Valheim is quite fun for me too, but the building needs work, me and my friend found that the hard way trying to build a bigger base.

One of the problems is that there isn't a flat roof and using floors as roofs doesn't count for things that require a roof over them, such as the workbench. We tried to use the thatch roofs but those continually broke even with our attempts at supporting it. Also why do beds need a campfire near them to function?

The stability system definitely doesn't make intuitive sense. What matters, as best as I've been able to figure out from reading guides, isn't actually physically holding an object up, but the number of connections between it and the ground. So if you stack 1m poles on top of each other, the one on the bottom will be blue when you mouse over it with your hammer, the ones above will go from green to red, and anything you try to attach to the red one will instantly collapse. But you can stack up the exact same number of 2m poles on top of each other. It's twice the size, but it's the same number of connections from the top to the ground.

So if you were building a house like so

You would think that if the roof is unstable then you should build supports under it.

But that's the same number of connections between the unstable roof segment and the ground, so it isn't more stable. You can only make it more stable by using fewer objects to connect it to the ground. And at the start of the game, everything you can make is either 1m or 2m, so if you're already using the 2m poles, beams, and walls and the 2mx2m floor segments, you can't do that. Until you unlock bigger building pieces, you just have to limit how many items you use in your walls and roof and build from the ground up.

I kind of understand the gist of it, I guess I just got too ambitious with trying to build a bigger base.

No-one I guess but I feel that campfires should provide a health/stamina boost if placed near a bed rather than be a requirement to use them. It's weird that you can place the beds and set your spawn points but you cannot sleep, in the house me and my friend built I couldn't place a campfire anywhere inside and was forced to make a tiny sleeping shack outside which frustrated me.

You only need the fire to be nearby, not actually in the house. Put the beds against one wall and the fire outside against the same wall and that'll work. I guess the wood walls don't provide much in the way of insulation if the heat can get through them, which probably explains why you need to sleep near a fire in the first place.

Also, if you did have the fire indoors, the building would fill with smoke and kill you. Which we discovered by trying to build a house around a fire and finding that it filled with smoke and killed us. You need to rig up some kind of chimney to have a fire indoors.

Yeah I know about the smoke inhalation, my first base included a place for the smoke to escape. I think the campfire outside trick would work, the problem is that we built a house on support beams, which is probably where I got all these problems from in the first place.

So I watched tens of compilations about weird/crazy/angry moments in Super Smash yesterday. That was certainly a treat.

Just want to say that I have nothing against the game, or the fanbase, or the tournaments; I just thought it's funny (and also heartbreaking; I know how much stake there are with competitions) watching the stuff.

Atleast the armour doesnt have her tits hanging out like 75% of skyrim armour mods. Much prefer armour mods that looks like... well armour, my self. Found this great witcher themed armour set mod on steam a few years back that added in lots of heavy plate armour types, they looked really good too though didnt look quite right on female bodies as they were mostly designed for male ones, so you could tell proportions were a bit off.

I tended to switch between heavy armour and mage clothes, depending on whether the fighting was close quarters or at distances. Mind you, you could use magic in the dungeons depending on which one it was, as some of them had choke points which meant that just blasting the enemies swarming through the choke point with spells was far more effective than hand-to-hand combat.

I am specializing in Heavy Armor, Restoration, and One-handed, with a side helping of Blocking. I eventually might try to 100 everything, but baby steps because this is honestly the first time I have played Skyrim. ^^;

I am super late into the trend, but so far, I genuinely enjoy it. I also seem to be going back to single-player games after going multiplayer-only (Overwatch, CS:GO, Rainbow Six) for so long.

No, your just bitter. The game is still a simple one you can play with your friends, however now there are more characters and content for players to enjoy and some people use it as a competition(something you can easily just ignore.) Its still the same fighting game now just expanded, its the natural course of fighting games and your complete refusal to accept it is mind boggling.

I always went two handed with heavy armor. I think I did one mage play-through but I don´t think I ever finished. I know I did at least one stealth playthrough which was fun(despite Skyrims flawed stealth system but you know.)

I thought of two-handed weapons because I am playing through Skyrim as one of my characters from my RPs and lore that I have written for this nation. ^^ So she is going to be a heavy hitter with two-handed weapons. But that Valkyrie sword is an one-hand weapon. But I guess I can appreciate the two-handed weapons with more mods, or just finding something I like during my play.

Maybe because it's still too early in the game, but I can't do archery properly, at least not yet. My aim was horrible (the arrows kept going out of the crosshair), and they don't really do a lot of damage.

You don't know joy until you are making potions that give over 10 million percent health regeneration.

If I make potions in Skyrim, it's cause I want to drain the bank of the alchemist shop in whichever town I'm in

Whenever I played Skyrim I'd find myself weighed down with dozens of looted potions that I never used. So I installed the lighter potions mod, and now when I play I find myself weighed down with hundreds of looted potions that I never use.

I really only used health, stamina and mana potions. And like... the general versions of those potions. Like normal, greater etc

All the ones that boosted certain stats and stuff i basically never used.

Honestly there are only two ways you should ever use potions in the game. If you're not playing a alchemist accept that you'll never use any of them and only use healing potions. If you are playing a alchemist break the fucking game and make yourself an immortal god with potions.

I went away for 1+ hour on the fact that "Valentine figures out how to fix a Form 43 into a Form 44" mod.

I am having a bit of trouble getting the height adjuster mod to work, and sadly, it's the ONLY mod that I want out of the 2 that is not working.
