- Could've gone pro if he hadn't joined the navy

- Who doesn't wanna hear Collective Consciousness while fighting Kirby as Mr. Game and Watch

I’d go for Solidus Snake as a more serious second Metal Gear character in Smash, but I feel like Armstrong could be a skin. Throw in his voice lines and we’re golden.

Fuck it, I think they could open up a lot of slots by grouping echo fighters by thematic similarity rather than series. Raiden could come in as one for those FE sword users. Armstrong could be based on Donkey Kong or something.

In all honesty I don't care if this game has good graphics or not I still want to get it in order to play the whole trilogy again.

We also have some gameplay footage for ME1 which looks really good! I never did finish ME1 completely, but I'm glad they're updating the gameplay for ME 1!

I was hoping that they were going to retcon some of the characters in the earlier games to be same-sex romance options, as same-sex male romance options don't appear until ME3.

Unless this legendary edition fixes the shitty ending of the original trilogy, I fail to see the point.

They will most likely retcon the ending anyway.... I mean if we look at the Mass Effect 4 teaser. The Normandy crew might be trying to revive Shepard.

Yeah i mentioned it in the star wars thread, supposedly being down by a company called Aspyr who have ported lots of star wars games over the year. This new KOTOR game is meant to take Influence from KOTOR1 and 2 so im hoping it brings some characters back but tells a new story, or at least a new spin on the star forge or something.

But id be happy with a game even just in the old republic setting, wouldnt need Revan specifically but that would be sweet too.

Same problem as all Assassin's Creed games: when it's the historical stuff, it's amazing. When it's the Aperture Science modern day gods that are not gods bullshit, it's boring as fuck and it makes you wish you were playing the historical stuff again.

They really need to fucking drop the frame story already it's so pointless, and the sad part is they force the past stuff to circle back to the Eldritch bullshit and it's so jarring. Cool viking stuff, raiding, assassinations, that's cool HEY GUYS DID YOU REMEMBER THE FUCKING CONSPIRACY???!!! IT'S COMING. IT'S HAPPENING. That there was more going on than just the Crusades and that Altair’s conflict with the Templars has directly continued on into Desmond’s time was part of what made the first game so interesting. But they lost the relevance of the modern day stuff when Desmond died. Now it’s an artifact of the series.

They should just focus on historical stuff, and if they feel the need to resolve the modern day storyline, they could shift it into the lore of Watchdogs. Say Abstergo defeated the Assassins as an organization but that hacker groups are aware of their hegemony and are now opposing them on their own or something.

Sadly that's nothing new to cowardly centrist narratives and forced centrism from their companies, best exemplified in how video games treat politics, or rather, the only ways they're allowed to talk about politics.

To be fair, it would alienate people buying the game, but at the same time, it just makes a lot of video games feel completely unfulfilling because they want to use politics in the story, but don't really wanna say anything one way or another, so... Nobody ends up remembering the story.

I'm reminded of Far Cry 5 accidentally endorsing cults, Ghost Recon: Wildlands flaking on US interventionism and the crimes of the CIA, The Division games (and their yee yee ass marketing campaigns), Fallout 3 and 4's not at all relevant politics compared to Fallout: New Vegas which is still relevant today, if not more so funnily enough, Battlefield V trying to satisfy people who wanted more "realism" (AKA no women in the game) while failing to defend their valid position of "It's a video game, and it's not meant to be realistic anyway, we just want it to be fun", a lot of Assassin's Creed games, whatever the fuck happened in The Last of Us Part 2.

Um. That one NBA video game that had Spike Lee... Trying to say something about capitalism and the black community... I THINK? Livin' Da Dream indeed.

Compare them to video games with much more successful and impactful stories like The Outer Worlds, fucking Red Dead 2 and Cyberpunk somehow in spite of everything (at least Cyberpunk isn't entirely the domain of CD Projekt Red so that would explain it), Gears of Goddamn Wars 5 somehow and their continued parody of fascism (??!!), and fucking DETROIT BECOME HUMAN FROM DAVID CAGE SOMEHOW.

I have to ask you though... How would they bring that back?

Assassins' Creed 4 is one of the most celebrated games in the series not just for it's boat mechanics and combat, but also because it's the game that focuses the least on modern day shit, it's an ancillary adventure game at best that is never more important than the main game, because the main story is interesting enough.

TBH, the assassin genetic memory shit just feels like a frame story excuse to just make video games about whatever things they want... And not a very good one.

I seriously doubt they would do that, it's more likely that the Abstergo shit is just either going to get worse or it's going to be dropped altogether.
