Personally, I lean towards classing the things, events, and people of Fallout Tactics as an "alternate universe" type of thing, i.e. something that is coherent in its own little bubble, but only tangentially related to the actual Fallout universe.

Todd Howard isn't canon.

He's howitzer.

Out of curiosity, and since this thread's been dead for 13 hours:

What's everyone's most anticipated game? Not of 2021, just in general.

Personally, I can't wait for the sequel to FF7R. I expect there to be a second and third game like how FF7 was originally three discs but if FF7R2 is the finale then I'll still be very happy, especially if they include Safer•Sephiroth. Safer•Sephiroth (or, more accurately, "WayMoreDangerous•Sephiroth" is one of my favorite bosses of all time and one of my favorite character designs in general, and I really hope that Supernova gets its own special cinematic (which it probably will). Hopefully not two minutes long, obviously, but special nonetheless.

Honestly the game I've been eagerly awaiting is The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, a choose your own adventure game. Usually I shy away from them since I can hardly get immersed in it. But The world of Sir Brante is brutal, mean, and uncompromising. I can't help but get immersed in a dark fantasy setting like it.

I honestly discovered it at a good time, when I was kinda yearning for a story centric game with a dark aesthetic.

I played the first part of the game, The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante. It is in early access. I thought it was pretty good. I like fantasy games, but most of them seem to be unpolished when they are released so I end up playing them for a little while, then lose interest.

Yeah, I can understand that sentiment. I like to think that Sir Brante is different, and the chapter 1 & 2 certainly helps in making me more confident in that opinion. If the next chapters live up to the first two, I'm confident it'll be a great game.

Resident Evil: Village for me personally, the trailers and demo seem to suggest a pretty amazing game so far. They knocked it out of the park with 7, so I'm excited to see how 8 stacks up. Also sad to see that actress that voices one of the vampire ladies died.

I'm replaying FF7R in Japanese and oh my God. I'm not sure who they cast for Cloud but he sounds absolutely terrified when he meets Marco (as a flashback of Sephiroth). The English version sold it as "yeah Cloud's scared" but the Japanese version knocked it out of the park; I actually got scared with him.

Honestly i dont know.

I guess maybe Horizon Forbidden West but its not coming out for a good while i believe.

Or maybe Warhammer Total War 3 but its also a long way off, they have not even put out a trailer for it yet though rumour is one might be coming soon.

At the moment it's the next FF14 expansion. They'll be announcing a shit ton of details on Feb 6th, so my life is basically a countdown to then this next week.

At least they haven't gone down the route of enforced redundancy by intentionally patching in some game-breaking thing so as to "encourage" people to upgrade to the new versions.

I hope Todd isn't reading this, as it isn't meant to be a suggestion.

Oh, another FF fan! I've been meaning to play FF6 (I've seen Kafka's final boss sprite and it looks AWESOME). FF7 will always be my favorite but I hope FF6 is as good as people say it is.

I need to try out the older ones.
I've played 7(R),10,13,15 and am active on 14.

Defintely excited for 16 when that releases. It's being helmed by the same team that works on 14, so I'm interested in what they come up with.

In all honestly I'll probably have to wait a while to play anything past 7/7R. I'm currently emulating 7 and playing it here and there and I don't really have the hardware nor the money to play anything else. I can maybe find Crisis Core and X through XII but I still need to get a memory card and a PS2 controller

Sims 4 Color Wheel, on top of these user-made mods that added A LOT. Of course, usual disclaimer that I am not advertising them and rather, I am thinking of installing them for my game itself, seeing as how I use TS4 now for my characters and RPs.

The sad thing is, this was all done by the users while EA was giving us relatively squat. It's amazing to see human determination and niceness of players like you and I... and sad that EA could not do this. Then again, am I surprised by them anymore? :P

I know that PS1 era is already quite old, but there's' something about character in story name dropping FF7 in dialogue about retro games that's making my hair grey at alarming speed.
