Nick's secretary? I suppose her outfit does have a kinda similar aesthetic?

Started playing Disco Elysium yesterday and I love how deep it is, this is a story that really cares about its worldbuilding. In spite knowing how much variance there is beforehand and even having a plan of what I wanted to try, the plan went out the window as soon as began playing. I defaulted to trying to play a good, nice cop who tries to stay apolitical more often than not. According to my stats, I've starting to become a Moralist, Sorry Cop with no name after completing an in-game day.

I don't know if it's the lighting or the character model or what, no other character in the game looks this way to me.

I remember seeing you comment way back when, I literally just went back to page 150 to reread what you guys were saying now I have some context to understand it. I completely understand how you can instantly become a communist. :). Trying to be communist in a future playthrough while also trying to be a Cop of the Apocalypse is resonating with me.

Got that. *nods*. And I talked to a lady for enough money to pay off my initial debt. But I admit that I have no idea how I'm going to get enough money to afford rent and other future large payments.

I think the advice I most need is how I should level up: Should I be worrying about my weakest stats or can I focus on stats that I want and be okay? I'm rocking a 3/5/1/3 build and I've already tossed one pip into Endurance for what I hope is survival's sake. I'm especially worried that Electrochemistry is going to get me withdrawal-killed if I continue to refuse to indulge in drugs and alcohol.

Once you've heard faction leaders monologue about space colonization, imperial Rome, and Hegelian dialectics, you expect a little more than just some guys in steel armor or revolutionary war attire.

Well I haven't played FO3, or NV for that matter...

Reminds me of the start of a playthrough I saw where they spent quite a long time deciding their stats and the like, min maxed, put no points in endurance,
and instantly died turning their apartment light on.

Definitely put it on my wishlist.

One bit of wisdom I did agree with came from Ulysses, when he said that when the Bull reaches the sea, it will turn on itself and die. But I'll let you play NV for the context of that one.

And the fact that they made the Brotherhood go back to their Nazi-esque roots was so forced as well. The game was crying out for the Enclave to return as the major antagonist, but they made the Brotherhood into an Enclave caricature instead. For shame. They really missed a trick, as who wouldn't want to see the Institute going toe-to-toe with the Enclave?

I wouldn't. The Enclave are dead and gone, let them die.

Since the premise of 4 is the PC waking up from cryogenic stasis, it could have been set at any point in time. 4 could have been contemporaneous with 3.

Disco Elysium is the best.

I'm pretty sure you can focus on what you want and be okay, I don't think it's possible to level up wrong and leave yourself unable to progress with the murder case.
I'm rocking a 3/5/1/3 build and I've already tossed one pip into Endurance for what I hope is survival's sake.

PROTIP: You can use healing items in dialogue(though possibly not every dialogue, I didn't check exhaustively), there's a short delay before you lose your last point of either health or morale where you can quickly huff some nosaphed or whatever. So you should be able to get by with low Endurance if you can keep enough healing items on hand. I didn't realise this until my second playthrough, and ended up putting more points into Endurance than I probably needed.
I'm especially worried that Electrochemistry is going to get me withdrawal-killed if I continue to refuse to indulge in drugs and alcohol.

You can finish the game without doing drugs easily enough.

And I'm very glad for that so far, I think I've gone 80% of the way towards becoming Meathouse's (?) ideology and throwing a couple punches before backing off to look for a third option, which I believe I've found.

Very good to know on both final points, thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: His name is Measurehead and I called him Meathouse. What the frick, brain, how did I screw that up so badly when I encountered him only a few real hours ago?

Oh my god, I just realized. I've spent my showertime imagining how an absolute brute of a character would play. Guys, I can literally make a dead body's head pop off. It's incredibly sick and disturbing. I have to do it. Not just for snazzy-ass boots, but for science.

The FO4 factions are as follows
Revolutionary war militiamen who force you on settlement quests
The Brotherhood of Steel, except now they're basically the Brotherhood Outcasts and the Enclave now
Some underground railroad who really like these robot people and copied the thieve's guild from skyrim
Underground science dudes who created robot people to turn the commonwealth into a science experiment

If you're a fan of XCOM and have some time to spare, Xenonauts is excellent. It ran great on my laptop.

Geez, you do a few (hundred) unethical experiments on the unsuspecting people of the Commonwealth and suddenly "you're the bad guy"

Measurehead pretty much is a meathouse.

Found a major bug during my 3rd playthrough, apparently completing "When Freedom Calls" is almost impossible if you can;t talk to Preston in Sanctuary even if he is in Sanctuary. Thus rendering the Minutemen faction impossible to complete. Not that I don't mind, but completing that quest and the Sanctuary quest gives me sweet xp and not getting that has pissed me off so much rn.

I remember getting this same exact bug on my 1st playthrough. You can just set the quest level in the console to the next objective to fix it.

Yeah one problem, I'm on PS4, as in can't use console commands.

Ah. Looks like you're screwed then.
This is one of the reasons I only play BethSoft games on PC. That, and mods.
