I liked it, a lot actually, but I never feel like I got to do as much as I wanted. I think the whole time I was saying "S.T.A.L.K.E.R would have had just a bit more" after every area.

The ape dongs were a nice touch tho

Yeah... My only real complaints are that you feel very rushed sometimes, like when I hear over the radio to go do something that instant, I’ll usually go do it, because I would figure I’d be able to do other stuff first, but half the time it just puts you into the end mission for the area where you just end up leaving. Especially in the Volga level. I was really surprised at how fast I went through the game despite how much I was trying to explore first.

Also, Artyom controls like a fucking tank at some points which can get irritating.

But when it actually all comes together, like crawling through that satcom facility in the Caspian, fighting off the spiderbugs while exploring the ruined offices and corridors, it works and it works so fucking well.

I really enjoyed exodus, but i feel its the weakest of the three games. When i played it at launch it was very clunky and had a fair few graphical and animation glitches, i also thought you were far slower compared to the other games in terms of movements. I really liked the first open area, the second was alright and the third... isnt really an open area, just a bigger linear area. And i felt the linear segments under ground were the best parts of the game.

Overall story wise i thought the first half was a bit shaky, but it got better as it went on. I hope with the next one they can iron out the kinks of their open world stuff, but honestly i would prefer it if it went back to being more linear and ditched the open world segments.

And I'm also noticing it seems like they're kind of migrating to SSD's in general more. There were not that many options in normal drives.

Of course, the fact I'm getting one is because my most important hard drive finally decided to crash, and I never backed anything up properly because I'm a dumb ass so I'm pretty pissed at myself, especially since I kept going "I know this thing is getting old, I should start backing things up". Downside of being such a procrastinator I guess.

It's a Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB. I dunno if it was on sale, but I saw no indication that was the sale price at Best Buy. It's almost got a straight up 5/5 rating across thousands of consumer reviews.
Yeah Samsungs SSD's are pretty solid drives.

KSP2!

Oh nice, I was wondering when it came out. I’m going to finish playing through GTA V again first, though.

I liked that Artyom was slow, it made him feel oddly real. What did get under my skin, and especially my wife's who ran co-pilot the whole game, was Anna. Play the game again and keep a running tally of every time she ways the word "Artyom", it's fucking absurd. I did love the forest area though, the two tribes and who they really are and what their background really is was one of the coolest reveals and I was genuinely suprised.
I was calling that cannibal shit from a level away though. I shit you not, I looked right at my wife and said "you know they're going to have been eating people this whole time, right?"

It's an unfortunately common tactic that people keep buying into for some reason.

It's one thing to release a game and then give it updates, but to release that garbo fire and then eventually make it a full game 3 years later?

I ain't buying into that, nobody should. Waste of time when there's so many better games coming out.

... In the case of the one game I'm waiting for, Mount and Blade Bannerlord, EVENTUALLY.

I know people are annoyed with how long the development cycle of Bannerlord is, but I appreciate that they’re actually taking the time to make sure the finished product is good.

Well... hopefully...

Apparently they had a switch in teams, which is why it actually took so long.

The gameplay previews I've seen are equal parts meh and breath-taking.

I'm also unsure on the point of Closed Betas.

That Kerbal Space Program 2 trailer is surprisingly very beautiful for what you would expect from that game honestly.

Have been having a niche itch of late, kinda want a city builder, but something more intuitive the general generic one. Something with some real political intrigue. Any games out there that can fulfill this niche?

Well, the best way to put it is, games like CK2, where you can be assassinated or you can betray your liege lord and what not. Not expecting anything to intuitive (like rebellion), but I was hoping there would be something more than the simple build a settlement formula.

Tropico might work for that. Basically, you play as a 3rd world dictator of a tropical island, starting with next to nothing. As you build up your island, you have to handle the many factions within your nation, potential rebel uprisings and if you piss off a superpower, foreign invasion. Mind you, the whole thing is satirical, so don't expect topics to be handled all that seriously.

Hope you enjoy. The 6th game came out not too long ago, and I don't know of anything notably bad about it, but I've only played 3, 4 and 5. Of those, I'd say I enjoyed 4 the most.

Apparently the new Doom is going to be like 20 hours long or something. Holy shit, I’m really hyped now. I swear, if Bethesda finds a way to fuck this up, I’m gonna lose it.
