The refined long sword will be great once you get Strength and Dex up past 30, though that's a lighter weapon, not a heavy hitter. Neither of the axes have any damage scaling, which is good early game, but tapers off later, especially with split damage when a boss resists one damage type.
If you specifically want to see chunks coming off of boss health bars, you're gonna want to be using greatweapons, or magic, though the latter only comes online lategame.

No. I think I’ve only played two. Far Cry 5 and Return of the Obra Dinn.

The only semi new game I own is the Xbox One port of No Man's Sky.

Got Nioh several months ago, but never beat the game. I used Odachis, but today I redownloaded it, and made a new save using Katanas. I think I like them a lot better.

I'm also making two new Bloodborne characters, one strength-arcane, and one skill-bloodtinge.

Feels like my main weapon has shrunk in size as DS trilogy has proceeded.

For me, it's Bastard Sword, Bastard Sword, and Bastard Sword. Every game I use the Elite Knight Armor/Bastard Sword/Crest Shield or Golden Wing Shield. I like the "generic knight" look and the look/moveset of the Bastard Sword, and though they're not the best armours or weapon, they usually do pretty well.

Dark Souls III did give me an appreciation for maces though.

I had the stupidest tank engagement ive ever seen in my life in warthunder.

Was in the French B1 fighting off a trio of tiny italian tanks. Like 95% of their shots are bouncing off of my armour, but they are that small and that close i cant aim my gun down to shoot them, so im slowly trying to back up and knock them aside to shoot them as they crash into the side of my tank and ram me over and over and over. Eventually someone shot me and killed me through the side, but this went on a for a solid minute and a half. It was like something out of a comedy movie.

They released NBA Live 16, canceled 17, and released 18 and 19. It has gotten attention this year because they made some gameplay changes that make it a lot better than previous installments. Also, I think people are getting tired of 2K's non-stop push on microtransactions. The One mode in 19 is pretty cool, as you create a character (which supports a face scan feature via smartphone app) and you can either take them into the NBA or do a street ball league. The Streetball league consists of traveling to different courts using a team you recruit of both NBA and WNBA players.

Having played 2k18, I prefer Nba Live 19. The custom character progression is much better, as you can earn it without grinding for in-game currency.

I don't either, typically. I pick one up every few years. The Madden games don't have enough customization options for me to care (as I don't follow professional sports). The 2k basketball games since 2k17 let you create expansion teams to add to the NBA, which I really enjoyed. I picked up NBA Live 19 because it was on sale for $10. I'd probably never pay full price for any of those games, tbh. Evidently the online competitive scene is where it's at for sports games. I prefer single player experiences.

Sports games sort of lost all attraction for me after FIFA 2002. That's the one where you could do a sliding tackle on a goalie holding the ball in his hands for an instant injury+red card. Later games became too serious for my tastes.
