I'm more concerned about my heir situation. My only son died of typhus, so the prospective successor to my out of nowhere monarchy is a 15 year old half-brother born from one of my father's many mistresses. And this family line has been annoyingly daughter heavy so far. Wasn't a problem until now.

So Vince Zampella is taking over controll of DICE. Basically the guy who made Medal of Honor. Moved over to Activision making Call of Duty up till leaving to make Titanfall.

Basically I'd say he's EA's best guy in FPS development. Does this mean Battlefield 2042 will be saved? Probably if EA doesn't decide to drop it, for losing a large amount of it's audoence. Either way, Battlefield's future looking brighter now. Whether this change impacts the current or next game.

So, I finished playing Deus Ex yesterday. Or today, depending on your time zone. Spoilers, obviously.

In this game I actively avoided spoilers (unlike Pathologic, which I stopped playing while I was playing Deus Ex, where I already know all the main story elements) and lol idk if it's just because I had a friend with a Denton pfp and an NSF name once but I expected the NSF to have way more of a role than they ended up with. Greatly enjoyed the story, I'm still in love with the Hong Kong level, though the boss fights were ridiculously easy and this wasn't even a matter of difficulty because I took Gunther down in two hits without taking any damage whatsoever.

Later on during the ocean labs I somehow managed to completely fail to realise Simons was there and only while reading afterwards found out that he was meant to have a fight there. So I only ended up fighting him at Area 51 where, yeah, same story as with Gunther. The robot spiders were by far the greatest annoyance because apparently you're meant to fight them with a shotgun and guess which weapon I did not have.

I hear, from the barest amount of knowledge I picked up before installing it last night, one of the endings is rendered completely worthless by the sequel. But I picked merging with Helios as my playthrough's ending anyway.

It's a game from 2000 on sale for 69p. I would hardly say that buying it is a flex or some sort of status symbol.

Something similar happened to me once where I just sent some vassals to fuck off in the Crusades and boom next thing I know I'm playing as a Sicilian queen of Jerusalem. Lasted for all of five years until the Abbasids crushed me.

Holy fuck the hellboar fight is one of the most insane boss fights I've ever had in a video game.

Edit: Not even necessarily because it was hard, none of the fighting in this game is actually super hard, but it was an EXPERIENCE and so well executed.
