Reddit thread: Quantic Dream is engaged in litigation with two French newspapers over statements made by its founder, David Cage, and ongoing reports of workplace toxicity.

Ill link the article itself but its in French so you will need to translate it

Allegations of sexism, racism, general work place toxicity, and cage himself being a huge cunt but thats been said about him for years from what i remember. But now also litigation with two newspapers over the whole thing and what he is alleged to have said.

Anyway thought it would be interesting to share.

More specifically, QD and Cage are suing these papers for defamation and are, in the process, making themselves look like total fucking clowns and proving true everything claimed about them.

I think I've given up on this being an "evil" run. I just can't bring myself to be a dick without adequate justification. I couldn't yell at the polite, innocent young woman on the radio, for no reason, early in the game (Sylvie) and I can't bring myself to be directly mean at Kim. He's just too good of a guy, even when he knows I'm racist. I wish he wouldn't let me get away with this, it would make it so much easier to be evil if he hated me back.

I can't really say I'm surprised at the sexism allegation, their games never seemed to portray women all that well. Not that there's definite causation or anything, I'm just not shocked.

I forgot how tonally odd Mass Effect 3’s writing is. One second everyone’s angsting about Reaper genocide, the next Joker’s going on about how EDI has a new robot body so they can bang. One mission there’s hammy jokes and action one-liners, the next there’s Bioware’s attempt at philosophical sci-fi as robots and or squid lecture you on cycles of violence.
TG me about my avatars for useless trivia.

I think it's a clash between the dialogue tone and the story tone. The further you get into ME the more they refine their style of dialogue. It's witty, cheesy, and often doesn't take itself too seriously.
Unfortunately this negatively correlates with tone that the story they're trying to tell necessitates.
The further on you get, the better the dialogue gets, but the darker and more serious the story gets

Got those Gun, Gore and Cannoli games on xbox after i saw the devs are making a 40k game. Were a lot of fun, really enjoyed them.

Got every achievement in the second one, might go back and get them all in the first one too.

Apparently a game I quite like, Terra Nil, is getting a revamp and a full steam release. https://www.polygon.com/22522707/terra- ... date-price

It's a reverse city builder about reclaiming land for nature and I played the original Itch.io version quite a bit a few months back.

It’s good for video game karma after a long session in factorio.

A second finished Disco Elysium run and I still have the itch to play more. Not only was this run mildly unsatisfying*, I simply still feel like there's still so much more to explore.

There are two ideas that are strong to compel me to go for more playthroughs, though maybe not immediately:
- Superstar, Ultraliberal cop who actually drinks and does drugs on the job. I wanna see what happens when you actually succeed "slipping away undetected", in spite of how awesome failing that check is. And, I've never touched alcohol nor narcotics in my previous playthroughs, I wanna learn how to use them.
- Full chaos build. Inland Empire-focused cop of the Apocalypse. Embrace the necktie. Just try to do all of the most absurd things possible. Kill a certain child, use a molotov cocktail, those kinds of things.

* I just botched the whole vibe of the character, I couldn't keep my "tone" straight. Couldn't keep up the evilness. I'm really bad at roleplaying bad characters.

Speaking of Disco Elysium, i actually got the game now. Time to listen to my intestines about how fascism is actually a good ideology and women are the fault of everything.

Killing a certain child ends the game. I believe it's the only thing the game will absolutely not allow you to continue on from doing. I could be wrong, I've never done it myself.

My first playthrough I accidentally became a racist to try and get on Measurehead's good side. It didn't help, because I didn't actually understand his hierarchy of fictional races and associated stereotypes, so I spent some XP on unbecoming a racist.

Huh. Well, that would certainly be appropriate. Actually nice to see that there is a line that cannot be crossed, feels like you already get away with way too much.

When you do you too can become a marxist and awkwardly hug a working class woman who is worried about her missing husband whilst whispering to her about the coming proletariat victory.
