You guys ever get extreme feelings of nostalgia? I was listening to a song on Spotify, and I noticed it sounded really familiar, and I realized it was from Need For Speed: Underground 2, which I used to play a fuck ton of as a kid, and it really took me back. I miss that game. It and the 2005 release of NFS Most Wanted were basically my childhood.

Whenever I gear the Song of Healing or Clocktown music, I'm immediately hit with a 50 megton nostalgia bomb and think back to playing Majora's Mask as a kid.

Also - and this is an odd one - the song "Let It Go" from Frozen reminds me of my first time playing Dark Souls. Family was watching it in another room when I was playing at high volume, and that song began right when I entered The Duke's Archives, and so I always associated it with Seathe The Scailess.

Yeah I've been playing Breach and Clear. It's somewhat similar. Unfortunstely there isnt really anything in the way of a campaign in the base game, but a dlc that takes place I'm a zombie apocalypse has a campaign

Yeah I thought there was some sort of story driven thing, especially considering theres like 6 different factions you can choose so I thought each one would have its own story line or something but unfortunately not...I'm actually really disappointed there isnt because it makes the whole customization of soldiers and such seem a little pointless.Regardless, the dlc is decent and the base game is still very fun.

If you know of any other xcom type SWAT or SpecOps games that do have some sort of story tho, let me know.

I'll just rattle off my list of favorites, in no particular order:
1. If you enjoyed the original XCom check out OpenXCOM. It's basically a modern fully moddable variant built off the old assets and stuff.
2. If you are looking for something a bit more modern and are not shy about having Dark Souls level of difficulty in your games check out UFO Alien Invasion.
3. As far as properly published games go if you can get them to run Silent Storm and the UFO series are fairly good and in the same general genre gameplay vise. But I am not sure if they'll run on modern machines. #1 and #2 will.
4. As for modern games I find that the new Battletech scratches the same itch for me so it might for you as well.

Silent storm comes to mind. If you can get it to run on modern systems.

I know UFO is on steam qs I have it, and after looking so is Silent Storm. And for only 10 dollars too. Looks ike I know what I'm doing after work.

Make sure to google if it will work on modern systems before you do. Plenty of stuff on steam won't. And I've had some issues getting it to run my self.

Well it says the OS required on steam is windows 7 or 8. Not sure if that means windows 10 wont work tho...

It just runs in DOSBox iirc, so if DOSBox works in Windows 10, you're fine.

Dosbox? Yea, than it should work perfectly. It works with everything.

I have the original release from way back when before Dosbox was a thing. Shows my age I guess.

EA's E3 Conference was "meh."

Jedi Fallen Order? Meh IMO. Looked interesting, though.

Apex? Meh. I hate Apex, and the first half seemed like "Look at this stuff you can buy", but the second half was neat.

BFV was just stuff that's already been announced a few days earlier, but....could've been worse.

I didn't watch the sports games or Sims stuff because I wasn't interested.

To be honest the only star wars games that I still always have a desire to play or boot up when I'm in a star wars mood are old, like Empire at War, Battlefront II, KotOR, with the exception being SWtoR.

I will give credit though to EAs Battlefront 2 in that I found the campaign to actually be pretty cool, if only it wasnt a pitiful 4 hours long.

Well, today was just the EA conference. Tomorrow is when things will really kick off with Microsoft and Bethesda, and carry on until Monday.

Still haven't touched the campaign. Really only interested in online, which Capital Supremacy has made really fun.

This month's update finally brings the Droideka, alongside the TX-130 Tank for the Republic, Naboo for CS, and the next new map is Felucia, so that's all cool news IMO.
