Really sacking should increase the morale of armies, not decrease it since soldiers got pissy when not allowed to sack, and sacking shouldn't decrease prestige.

I feel like technology has a way smaller impact in combat advantage in HoI4 than in 3. I've seen Germany struggle with France and even Belgium at times because of this as it seems whatever tech advantage one has is negated simply by the dig in multiplier.

max out the superior fire power or deep battle tree with upgraded rifles and you'll see the difference.

Fair but that still shows that it is not nearly as important until much later on and until much more is researched. I mean the difference between Infantry Warfare Model 36 and model 38 alone was pretty significant, as was the various infantry weapons and support models.

Yes, this event is awful.

Yeah, sacking was a typical aspect of siege warfare, assuming the defenders held on long enough.

How the fuck do you get saints, ive had a couple of "blessed" distant family members die in my russian game but no one has been made a saint yet.

It's easiest if you're in a Monastic Order as it makes removing sinful and bad traits (Cruel, Cynical, etc.) easier. You gotta get tons of piety, don't have any sin traits, don't murder anybody, have positive traits like Honest, Just, Trusting, etc.

Basically just be as much of a goody two-shoes as you can possibly be. It also helps if the clergy likes you; even more if you have relatives in the clergy.

Speaking of Orthodoxy, the HRE went Orthodox and most of central europe is orthodox now, thats cool.

I've seen precisely one game where there was a Frisia and that was only because Charlemagne forgot to create an Empire before he died.

Man all this CK posting makes me want to redownload it, but as is the problem with all paradox games I dont have 200 dollars to spend to get the dlcs. Which are the ones most worth getting?

The Old Gods, Way of Life, and Holy Fury are the only ones that everyone loves.
Legacy of Rome is great if you're playing in the Byz Empire. Retinues are a nice feature too.
The Reaper's Due is great but not necessary. If you like disease, injury, prosperity, and destruction, you should get it.
Conclave is, in my personal opinion, absolutely fantastic. However, a lot of people don't like it, so you should be careful when buying it.

The ones that unlock religions/governments are extremely subjective.

Monks and Mystics is okay I guess, I would have rathered it have just been Monks.
