Well, I'm calling my Danubian Federation game early because I got stuck with a great statesman at the same time that I had a pacifist government. So, behold! The Federation and her sphere of influence. If I had the ability to make war, I would have finished things off by smoothing out the border with Germany by taking Saxony. Would've tried to pop out the Rheinland as a nation if the war score was available, too. Since this was actually my first game ever as Austria, my overall goal was simply to unify everything that the Federation accepted as a culture. This is probably the first game I've ever played as a European and never gone for anything in Africa.

This game was so much easier than I expected, considering Austria is so often an even bigger punching bag than the Ottomans. All I had to do was clinch an alliance with France, which the AI never does when on its own. The real difficult part of the game was keeping my sphere intact. France, Prussia/NGF, and Russia were all just relentless pains in the ass.

They're a fascist dictatorship. Some nations like to change color when they switch government style and some don't, for some reason. Wurttemburg's also a fascist dictatorship, too, (didn't notice the revolution in time and was too slow to get there, I was days away from liberating the capital from the rebels) and I would spared a few days to deal with them, too, if it weren't for THE FUCKING PACIFIST SOCIALISTS.

Question for people who have played as Japan (or I suppose any nation in east Asia, really) in Victoria 2: What's the strat for taking on the European colonizers in Oceania? Will taking the territories I want be enough to crack the nut in-theatre or would I have to go on a world tour to beat them up enough to be willing to part with those territories?

You’ll probably need to fight in Europe unless you want to spend a stupid long amount of time waiting for your warscore to tick up.

I started playing Millinium Dawn again and am wondering if any of you know of any sub-mods or improved versions of the mod that expand what countries have unique focus trees.

Out of curiosity I decided to see what the DPRK's focus tree was and - was disapointed that it's the default focus tree. I know the DPRK is a secretive country but the 2000 start date allows for a bit to be explored. 2000 was the year their closed intranet (rather then internet) was created, the year the inter-Korean conference started, and a time when China's president was working to get the DPRK to adopt Chinese style economic reforms (the reforms that allowed for the special economic zones in the PRoC).

South Korea is the same- no focus tree- not even something about the Sunshine Policy.

So I'm just wondering if ya'll know of a sub-mod or an improved version of the mod that adds focus trees to these two.

Edit: Also, any update on the Nazi's won WWII mod?
