Not sure whether my first playthrough will be as a blonde haired daughter of Woden conquering Rome or a Tibetan ruler forging a Buddhist empire into Europe.
Now if only someone could explain to me what's so funny about the name of my friend, Biggus Dickus....

TBH I set up my planets for specific purposes in the early/mid-game and then institute population controls when they reach slight overcrowding. Once they're at that point, you pretty much never have to look at them again.

That's literally exactly what I do, too. I am instantly on the lookout for the best Generator and Agri worlds, because those are always the first priorities. All the while, I'm scoping out ideal Urban/Forge/Industrial and Tech Worlds, which is made more interesting because I use the Guilli's Planet Modifiers mod.

They're Mikuru Asahina.
They have massive... Tracts of land. And everybody wants to touch them against her consent.
And also they get older and hotter later but that's less continent more Mikuru.

As for the ottomans honestly you are all wrong. They are the crazy cat lady girl that lives next door. She keeps lots of different cats who all hate each other AND her. But she loves them all so she keeps the doors and windows locked so they can't get out. But that only makes them angry so they scratch up all the furniture and leave their droppings everywhere. And than she is sad and surprised when nobody wants to come visit.

No, seriously, look up ottoman history during the V2 period. You had Arabs making problems in Arabia (culminating with the Arab revolt of WW1), Balkan peoples starting revolutions in the Balkans (culminating with the Turks being thrown out by the end of the game), the Armenians were making trouble (and got what they got in WW1 as a result) and pretty much everyone else that wasn't a Turk generally poking at the walls to see if they can't break out.

For real if only Paradox's love of alt history in HOI4 was applied to VIC2 and other games. The Ottomans could have gotten a series of options to stabilize their empire without mass slaughter or exploiting mechanics that never got balanced because paradox gave up on this game way to fast.
