No money for u. I wanted to play as a comfy Greek-City state, but instead, I get Alexander the Controversial.

It doesnt bother me personally.

Also because the clusterfuck of massive empire's disintegrating and the shit that causes is juicy goodness.

Yeah, in all seriousness, I'm just gonna sit back and wait a couple of days till I get it. Even if I can't play as a comfy playthrough, the game still looks fun.

Boo. Hss. Now I have to use some rando for my Gallic Empire. Totally unfair!

I mean, some very nice and talented person could add more starting dates.

Im looking for something to fill the void of EU4, and games like that.

The only real paradox game ive been playing actively a lot is HOI4 and im getting a bit burnt out on it (its also not the same as EU4), so ive started playing ck2 again today, messing around in the game of thrones mod (doing my favourite past time of murdering lannister children as stannis baratheon) and to me IR looks like it could be a more fun EU4, its grown on me a lot now since its initial reveal (where i didnt really care) and im thinking i might pick it up a bit after launch as a result to scratch that itch.

If its good that is at launch, if its broken or something ill hold off and ill watch more gameplay at launch before deciding.

Why did they never add more start-dates to HOI4? I wanted to try playing the Italian Social Republic in a 1944 scenario, similar to what was in HOI3, but they never added it to the game.

It's just not worth the effort. The numbers they have show the overwhelmingly vast amount of people only ever use the first and earliest start date.

Though if you want to play the ISR in 1944 Endsieg is a good mod that lets you do just that.

I only ever really play
The earliest start in HoI4, earliest start in EU4, CK2 usually Charlemagne or Viking era start, or the default start.

And that's about it. I like to stay early, more time fucking around then.

Why would you want to play a glorified Nazi puppet state that barely last 3 years and only controlled half of Italy?

Bohemia! Why do you do this? You've massacred all things borders, how could you?

Bohemia in 769 is always the worst offender of bordergore in every game. They expand ridiculously and just trash everything around them - Bavaria, Avaria, Poland, Pomerania, Germany, etc. The second worst offender is either Uyghur or Khazaria - both of which completely butcher their respective end of the steppes and nearby Feudal/Tribal territories.

itd be better if Paradox could balance out its difficulty better. EU4 can be a casual and easy experience depending on the country your playing. RIP Spain players if you play early start dates. HoI4 can be a really difficult game for those who play weak countries until the moment you break the ais brains. CK2 is fun and difficult, until youve gained powers of the holy blob, and consume the world.

I can tolerate Khazaria, because they dont often expand save for enforcing tribute on other realms, name-spreading (kinda like man-spreading but worse). Im used to dealing with Avaria doing that shit, not Bohemia.

Because the Focus Tree system brutally murdered alternate start date options before they were even released. Also the gameplay for HOI4 makes later start dates a terrible idea. HOI3 and DH made them work. However an earlier start date for HOI4 in 1932 (like in DH) would be great if it had different focus trees.

Yes but only if you buy it with both DLC at once. I bought it before dlc came out and it trained me so many bad habits

So I united mainland dejure kingdom region and then an waiting to make the title. Talk about a royal slogfest, as there is no-one good to raid bc it set to tribal and nomad a gov types. Meaning no good feudal Lord's to raid. That means I can either raid for 2 gold per village or sit on my ass until getting 320 gold to make a kingdom. I could conquer the islands to make it cheaper but boat expenses can be terrible on the upkeep causing bankruptcy

Changed the name because it kept bothering me that I have this random generated dejure duchy name that doesn't relate at all to the duchies in it. Came up with Mara and decided to stop renaming things. To much bloody work. Just shush, I'm a geek who can't help but picture a alternate history duchy would have alternate history names!

Shush ignorant fool. It adds a fuck ton of content that involves rebalancing europe, making colonization a consistent mechanic, tweaking the economy, improving military and rebels, and more.
