Found something interesting in the Charlemagne start date. You can form a very weird looking HRE. Start as Hungary or conquer them ASAP. Convert to catholic, holy war bulgaria's starting ruler and then krum. Form Carpathia. Next take out Carinthia and create the kingdom of carinthia. Now you need to take over the Lombards. War em out/get a claim and take the kingdom of Italy. You can now create the Holy Roman Empire without Franks or Germans. Thus creating an HRE consisting of Avars, Hungarians, Slavs, Bolghars Romanians and Post-Germanic Lombards.
This might be able to be done before 800

i think i'm playing Stellaris wrong. anytime i'm expansionist in a war, my Economy implodes, and if that's already imploded, then the empire explodes with everything at 10% stability.

Idea: just like there are civics for empires to begin on Ringworlds or Gaia worlds, there could be opportunity to start on a Ecumenopolis. name that city-planet Coruscant and your star wars empire would be complete.
it might just raise some balancing issues though. just might.

As much anger that I have toward Paradox's policy towards expansions, they are probably the least worst when it comes to greed in video game companies.

I've never understood why people hate Paradox and I assume that I never will.
