I stopped playing the Soviets because I'm sick of purging good good generals and ministers. Let me purge the shit ones. Let me purge the godawful Politically Connected 1111 Old Guards instead of Zhukov and Konev and all but one of the ministers. Soviet political buff when?

No matter what I do, the Germans somehow manage to blitzkrieg me and kill like 40 of my divisions right off the bat.

I'm not bad at the game, I've won as Japan, Germany, Poland, USA, Communist China, France, the UK, and even Sweden. I don't know why I can't beat Germany as the USSR.

I'm not bad at the game, I've won as Japan, Germany, Poland, USA, Communist China, France, the UK, and even Sweden. I don't know why I can't beat Germany as the USSR.

Place your armies on the Dnieper River in Ukraine and the Daugava River from Riga into Belarus. Build up to level 5 (or more, more is also good) forts on the eastern sides of these rivers (also Kiev on the western Side and around Smolensk where there is a gap in the rivers. I Also like to fortify Odessa some times as a holdout) and watch as the Nazi and Fascist hordes die upon your unbreakable red line of death. Then just assault them all across the line and steamroll them back to Berlin.

You can also (and this is what i usually do) is hold the line with these forts until winter 1941 (if they attack historically) then counter attack them with tank armies in Ukraine pushing to encircle them between Odessa and Kiev. Then when they rush to counter this charge them with infantry armies all along the centre and northern parts of the line and destroy the pocket then just smash them. I often get to around Warsaw before i have to cool down for a bit, then i just push again and crush them.

Ships in a neutral port that are there due to docking rights can not be attacked with aerial strikes on the base, so if you want to get rid of ships operating there you will need to draw the harboring nation into war also.

Considering this sentence, I'm saddened there was no reference to the Battle of the River Plate.

Odd. I find it easier to win as the USSR than as Germany. My tips are rush Poland, build more divisions, improve templates, and if playing Trotsky go Mobile Warfare instead of Mass assault.

Germany is actually the easiest nation to win as. The USSR is comically easy to beat.
