Damn, these raiders are really busting my balls. One of them is a two system jump from my capital, and the other just killed 4 pops I spend almost 200 months building up.

Welp, time to spread the glorious worker's revolution throughout the galaxy as space-dwarves.

Well, first I have to learn how to play Stellaris again, but it's happening!

ouch
This is going to be my first 2.2 empire.

Being xenophobic and inward perfection does more than just hard counter slow breeders. It actually nets out to a positive 20% to pop growth.

So I'm going to guess your race survived a nuclear Holocaust but is still affected by the radiation to this day, am I correct?

Managed to come up with a backstory in the moments before I fell asleep this morning:

50,000 years ago, Death's Grip is speculated to have been a verdant tropical world. But very, very little of that remains and in the Suffering schools of science it's really only speculation at best. What is known about the planet, is that it suffered a great cataclysm, poisoning and cracking the world forevermore. Many believe that their world was touched by nature. A once in a billion freak event caused by the curious alignment of the triple suns during the period when the affliction happened. Others believe that their world was visited by beings from beyond the void and scorched by orbit in their wrath. The one thing that's clear is that a great deal of energy was expended to cause Death's Grip to turn toxic and led to the Suffering. Now, the Suffering seek to finally escape Death's Grip. The world is so broken, barely clinging to life, much like the Suffering themselves. To leave the world and colonize is the greatest dream of modern Sufferers. The Suffering seek to start anew and flourish in a way that has never before been available to them. And if the truth of Death's Grip has something to do with other beings in the void . . . well, 15,000 years of recorded development have led to this moment and have hardened them in a way not many will have experienced. They'll be ready.

Funny you should say that, as I tend to play as intelligent space Orcs that take the Materialist ascension pathway for some reason. :?

I swear, not even Rouboute Guilliman, Werner Von Braun, Donald Trump, and all of the Founding Fathers combined could figure this new economy system out.

I mean, it is a little daunting, but I seem to be doing well so far, without any mods other than music mods.

Also, I wish they'd allow me to make a machine empire that isn't a gestalt consciousness.

I took one look at the economics, screamed, and then went to bed since I was tired.

Too tired to figure it out.

So... was this the result of Paradox being tired of people wanting them to release Vicky 3?

FUCK. I just discovered that patch 3.0.1 for CK2 came out. I've been wanting to play as a standard Catholic once the Pope's excommachinegun was toned a bit.

How am I supposed to choose between this and the Stellaris update that's actually quite enjoyable?

And apparently EUIV is just giving out free features from old DLCs. Why am I missing all of these major and important things!?

Yeah, a lot of features were dependent on development but with development itself being locked out.

Somewhat toned down the chance of Alexander and Ashoka's Bloodline event chain from firing and increased the required Prestige requirements to 15000 from 10000

excellent!!

The Pope shouldn't try to start a new Crusade the moment his previous Crusade is cancelled

Thank fuck.

- If in a single player alternate start game, you can rename any title via the Customizer DLC regardless of if you own the title or are its top liege.

Does this mean abomination names are gone?

- Removed a de-facto Epirus from the 769 bookmark, and rearranged the lands under some Slavic High Chiefs (Dukes) instead.

Dammit they found out Hellenic Epirus was broken strong. BOO TO THIS CHANGE

How far did you get into Russia, if you were at war with the Comintern?

Actually, I was playing with historical AI off - something I normally don't do - to see what would happen. I'd conquered Czechoslovakia, Austria, Yugoslavia, and Italy and her colonies. I invaded and conquered France, but was hoping to get to take Britain before America joined the war.

Also, at the same time as the U.S. joining the war, I inviting fascist Romania to my fascist - while they were at war with Romania - forgetting Romania was part of the Międzymorze and now Poland was at war with me. My stupidity was I had no troops on the Polish border because I'd become close friends with Poland and they liked me and I had no intention of invading them and rather keeping them as a buffer between me and the Soviets.

I think I'm gonna get Conclave. Or maybe Reaper's Due.
Which one should I get?
I'm really interested in Conclave's council mechanics but I'm also interested in achieving the key to immortality, so I'm at a bit of a crossroads here.

I never use historical AI. In fact, I use the opposite of historical AI.
Road to 56 or bust.

Anyways, yeah, seems you've made a few mistakes. I've never seen Romania in Meadzemorsecode though...
Usually it's just Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, though Estonia NEVER joins in the war against Germany/Soviet Union.

Yeah, I was playing Road to 56 without historical AI. The Soviet Union was busy fighting a war against the Nordic Brotherhood because they invaded Finland. Huh, I always see Romania join the Miedzymorze, unless I'm using historical Ai, of course. .
