Honestly I was more confused by Pannonia in Norway, especially Iceland. And, obviously, why the Saxons are dicking around in Jerusalem.

Good news everyone, my Greek Latin Emperor became a Lunatic, which allowed me to "delve into the classics" and adopt the Hellenic faith!

Yes, do it. Holiness is for wimps.

All of my characters so far have taken the chance to duel and wound as many people as possible.
It’s seriously just a drug to me. I need that extra point of PCS...

This will probably be the best start Muscovy could ever ask for.

I just wanted to sit around and rebuild my manpower after the war with Novgorod but Paradox was like "hey, your greedy ass want a PU over Lithuania?" and I looked at my min maintenance army that wasn't fully replenished and 1k manpower and said "fuck it, worth a shot at least". I fully expected to get clapped but 25K Muscovite soldiers actually stomped 35K Polish+Lithuanian. This is nuts.

And yeah, you probably can. It would actually be easier than attacking the Pope, I think.

Is it hard to attack the Pope now?

You might as well be Jihad-ing the Pope if you attack them, for any reason, if I remember the Dev Diary correctly. The Catholic world will act to stop anyone from messing with the Papacy.

Did my first Crusade.
The First Crusade for Jerusalem, naturally.
I got second place and obtained some pretty sweet armor and a sword, and my beneficiary was installed onto the Duchy of Galilee. A few mistakes stopped me from getting first but I'm not angry.
How could you be when you're literally rolling in gold?

The sword, however, is pretty much useless now. I got the Sword from Heaven event almost immediately after the Crusade.
When given the option between a few buffs and a +7 PCS increase or a +12 PCS increase, I will always choose more PCS. No exceptions. I need it.

Oh, and I picked up a hot chick at a bar in Jerusalem.
I have no idea where she went so I guess she died.

Ya romuvan republic is good.

Peaceful +3 demense, +15 vassal opinion.
Stable (Short reign penalty gone, boost my courtiers which will be lots of my male relatives because republic.)
Religious Tax (Taxing other religions for cash)
Autonomous (+2 diplomacy, allows branch picks for further boosts.)

3 from Doge, 3 from peace, 2 from absolutism, rolling with +3 or +4 from stewardship bonuses = 11/12 demense, meaning the 7 estonian counties plus 4/5 additional cities in the capital can be held personally, they're all wrong religion (for tax boost) and right next door to Romuvan homeland.

With +15 opinion the instability of a multi-faith republic also goes away. Peaceful+Autonomous synergize well.

You should be able to gain absurd cash from this set up I think, and holy warring is still enabled and active on everyone else (since romuva is small). (Just not GHW.)

Piety translates to stat boosts for courtiers (male relatives), so either piety boosts from holy war or piety boosts from peace can translate into stewardship for yet more cash and a potentially larger demesne.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.
