Reminds me of that game when I started in CK2 as the French, won the 100 years war (that was the start scenario) and took over half of england. But switching over to EU4 they somehow got enough power left to found some colonies so I ended up fighting a colonial english empire in the Caribbean as they tried and failed to take back the isles. Fun times.

Right so. Im a tad annoyed right now.


I tried to get the "Assuming Direct Control" Achievement for HOI4 as Ireland after getting the "No Country for Old Men" Achievement right, as i mentioned before. So i built up my army, fortified my coat and joined the Comintern. I was attacked by the Axis (Namely Spain, V. France and Italy) through naval invasions all of which were defeated and the Axis didnt take a single piece of my land, and my war participation was still at 0%.

So when the USSR finally gets defeated, i get annexed immediately despite the fact i lost absolutely nothing and was untouched throughout the entire war. Mongolia, some how was fucking left alone and stayed independent despite the fact they were actively fighting and lost over 130k men.


I wana stab someone, because that was a bunch of hours fucking wasted.

Well, at least you didn't have to deal with the War of the Roses. Mind you, this is worse than any traditional WotR outcome.

So I bought Sword of Islam at a 100% discount today.. it's very weird playing as a Muslim guy.

Firstly, Open succession. It says that the most powerful vassal (most land, if none landed then firstborn) will inherit. That's straightforward, except my liege is bent on taking my kids and giving them random titles all over the place. MY 2nd son, a 20 diplomacy 15 stewardship GENIUS, is a baron. He now has preference over my first son, a far more average guy. But then my 3rd son, with 1 stewardship but all around good stats is given a random county. Now I'm pretty sure he's gonna be my heir soon, but the game hasn't realized it yet. So why is my liege landing my kids? How come he doesn't land his own family instead?

Secondly, decadence. I haven't played enough Islam to see what it does, but from what I can tell, if it goes up I get debilitating modifiers that can grind entire empires to a halt if not managed. Does that mean if I'm in say, Tibet my holdings will be affected by my 26th cousin in Iceland? This sounds super broken to me. If you're worried about your brother annexing your territory (Muslim bros don't get along for some reason) then become mega decadent and destroy their kingdom. Has anyone tried that?
