Today I learned that opening a huge front you can only cover a quarter of is an extremely bad idea.
Tried to play a Comintern game as Turkey in HOI3. I conquered Bulgaria and Romania, but the Soviets didn't give me enough time to prepare defenses on the Danube and Axis occupied Yugoslavia/Greece. I was demolished.

Also India was conquered by Japan and Italy swept through Egypt with little to no effort.
Oh, and Pearl Harbor fell, too.

Thats a shame, but taking Romania might have been a bad movie, trying to hold Bulgaria and European Turkey would have been a lot more manageable with what you had. Where the Soviets the one who attacked then? What was the general situation in europe?

Germany, Hungary, and Italy in the Axis. France, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and Greece all got got. Second Vienna Award happened. The Winter War went historically.
The Soviets attacked first.

Taking Romania was definitely a bad idea but I got greedy. Lesson learned, HOI3 is infintely more punishing than 4.

The Kaiser backed down when Goering started making power plays and it was actually kinda fun from then on. The implosion is a seriously hard to manage and difficult campaign that was a lot of fun, slogging across an entire continent with a fairly small number of troops (though Germany did send 10 or so maybe) certainly polished up my micromanaging skills again.

Playing a bit of HoI4, and as Italy of all people. Going to see if I can make Italy not be a disappointment in life.

Right now I'm invading central Africa, after securing the Mediterranean choke points. All three fascist alliances (axis, Novus Romanum, and Japan's faction) are all in war with the allies, but I'm thinking on "betraying" Germany, since they are distracted with the war, and have a nice underbelly to blitz right through.

I can't force U.K. to capitulate due to him being so far away and with no German alliance, I can't station troops or fleets next to England for naval invasion. Russia capitulated to Germany, and Japan holds China.

I hold Yugoslavia, Greece, Eastern Africa (allied and Italy territories), Turkey, and Romania.
