Russia's tree is good but slow as shit. France, Italy, and Britain had the worst trees and only one of them got fixed

Despite controlling the Maritime Provinces as Newfoundland since 1842 (now 1874) and being a great power, I think Victoria 2 isn't firing up the core integration event because it considers the area "overseas territories". If this is the case I'm going to be very annoyed if I have to turn on my Canadian subjects and conquer Quebec just for Halifax.

My session was a good time (some dumb idiot made this happen), but I think I need to restart and increase the civilization density, I didn't feel like I was actually getting a good MegaCorp experience. Would appreciate some advice on how to make an appealing game for a MegaCorp if anyone has any.

I must confess, I have unironically and knowingly triggered Prikkiki Ti before. Simply because the system was right next to another fanatic purifier empire that was getting a bit too close for comfort.

I don't have any advice on a good megacorp game setup. But something I've noticed, is that in all my games (I have default empires turned off through a mod, for more diversity, and so that I can be sure another Earth-based empire doesn't spawn), all the criminal heritage corps are some degree of pacifist. Like, WTF. That's not how Mafia works.

Yeah, Corps thrive on having a larger number of empires and I've generally found that galaxies larger than medium size are too empty on the default number of spawns for playing even regular empires, let alone Corps. Big part of how Corps play is based on efficient use of admin cap (which is going to be much harder with the next update, I think) and on trade value, so the most ez mode corp is going to be something that stacks the Xenophile ethic with the Thrifty species trait and the Free Traders civic. You'll be producing insane trade value with that combo, and because of that commercial pacts with you will become very appealing, which in turn lets you do stuff with your branch offices.

That's the easiest way to do megacorps, but I generally find megachurches more fun thematically. Also, if you ever play multiplayer stellaris with friends, ethics griefing materialists by building clandestine megachurches on all of their planets by using the criminal heritage + gospel of the masses combo is just hilarious.

Back to my Anglophile attempt. (Update interrupted the last one.).

It's 1505, I have france under PU, Ireland conquered, Scotland as a Vassal, and have integrated Norway which I swiped from Denmark. In a second Denmark war I took all the Islands in the Baltic, and am fabricating on an Independent Danzig.

Colonizing the Caribbean too.

France (PU)
Scotland (Vassal)
Austria (Emperor)
Poland (With Lithuania)
Muscovy (Has united Russia)
Portugal
(What is "Overkill"?)

The Austro-Polish-Russian alliance keeps the three of them stagnant since they can't declare on eachother without me siding with the defender, but also gives me a wall of pain to launch at the ottomans when I get around to invading the middle east. It also keeps them from allying with Spain. (Portugal has Spain as an ally, which makes me sad.). When Scotland is annexed i'll shop around for someone to diplovassalize or another major or regional power to ally with until I'm enforcing a peace between major nations through sheer terror of my Empire.

Burgundian inheritance did not fire, but they lost their vassals and have no major power friends so i'll eat them over time.

I don't know when to make a move against Castille for Gibraltar (And mebbe some colonies.).

I might wait until my first military idea group is done or they are distracted in some big war, and until then just continue my vague easterly expansion, take slices out of Scandinavia and perhaps attack Burgundy. Colonization is practically automatic and I don't count it, but maybe I should focus on Expanding overseas?

I could just go ham on west africa and ignore coalition wars until I've eaten all of it.

I want Holland to form netherlands because it would boot them out of the HRE and let me annex them. They have Holland + brabant as territory, so just Ultrecht and Gelre left. In my annexation of Britanny I forced Utrect to annul all alliances hoping the netherlands would swoop in since they had no armies and no allies, but the AI is a poopy head dumb dumb and didn't.
