I wish you could just randomize the world without randomizing cultures and religions, just nations.

Assuming this is CK2, I thought you could already.

Considering the only thing you'd be changing would be where the cultures are, it'd be pretty meh if you only randomized where everybody goes.

And as I say that I can only imagine what the African Mongol Horde would be like.

So is CK2 better than EU4?

Especially for inter-kingdom rivalries?

I never really figured out how to play EU4, what with all the weird mana I could never figure out how to get and the sliders

I think certainly CK2 is more accessible. Compared to Victoria 2, at least, whose RGO and pop stuff I haven't been able to work out entirely how exactly they work.

Inter-kingdom rivalries definitely exist, it just depends on whether your liege allows it, which usually they don't, because we've got bigger fish to fry, usually people of other religions. For example, if you want to steal a county from another dukedom without sacrificing a lot of money and piety, you'll have to scheme with the other lords of the realm, which is where having Diplomacy or Intrigue helps, although Intrigue I think also affects your ability to detect plots against you. I used to ignore it completely until Conclave made it impossible because as even an almighty Emperor, appointed by God himself, I'm still forced to deal with all of these annoying peons wanting an opinion. Because, you know, I'm sure they have so many good ones now that I've conquered half the world -_-

Creating titles is key, since it means you no longer have to trade border disputes that cost money and points. They also give you a boatload of prestige.

Protip: don't accept duels from Tibetans. They fucking cheat every time.

I like to play as a woman because all of a sudden everybody thinks they're a casanova, even when they have fuckin' Great Pox. If they're diseased or you just don't fucking wanna, you can deny them for an opinion buff for the opposite sex (Sex Appeal, usually +10) or accept it if they're disease free for a bunch of benefits. Having them as a lover gives them a massive opinion buff, and, if, say, your husband loses his pickle during war or due to disease or dies or whatever the fuck, you'll usually get pregnant (cuz the game thinks it's sooooooooooo clever for making it less likely to have a legitimate child while boosting bastard kids. Joke's on you, game >:D) and have a backup baby in the oven, just in case your first heir sucks or dies and you have no good marriage candidates, and, unlike playing as a man and having lots of side chicks that are not allowed to do anything, the men I usually bed are powerful vassals.

Do note, though, that sleeping around will probably get you Lover's Pox or Great Pox eventually. Cheat on your spouses doucement.

I remember one time I saw the Byzantine Empire equivalent generate in Perm. Within five years it was just GONE.
The HRE equivalent, on the other hand, generated in Egypt, Ethiopia, and the Levant, and it was Jain (or at least the Jain-equivalent religion in that RW), so it lasted longer, but it didn't actually do anything.

I really get miffed when I die from the flu in any case. The only thing worse is when you abruptly die because of that stupid hidden health stat, "died of severe stress", "died of poor health", like I know I should be avoiding negative health traits/options, but it feels really random when my brawny 19-year-old Emperor dies of poor health.

Stress and depression coming out of nowhere is really annoying too.

It's one thing to get it from fighting in battle or if you have too many counties in your demesne, but to get it for no reason randomly? Maybe if too many people in your realm have a low opinion of you? I mean, you're a fuckin' noble, not a college student without access to free healthcare ffs.

It'd be nice if we got options to remedy them somehow. I'm sure there's a mod for that. Or the Hermetic Society if you have access to it.

NGL, I find the fact that my court physicians are so good at their jobs but not good at treating wounds really immersion breaking. Another thing you should be allowed to do is treat yourself, especially if you're a Hermeticist ffs.

Ok the HRE one sounds awesome.

I sorta figured it was the CKII equivalent to a Fallen Empire for the most part, since it was absurdly powerful but it had absolutely 0 interest in anything going on outside its borders. I never saw any civil wars, it never declared any significant offensive wars, and it had enough troops to obliterate anyone who attacked it (I think it had about 25,000 men in 769). I basically just ignored it the entire game, since I was playing in Ireland.
I started in Ireland, and I ended up being Zoroastrian-equivalent and surrounded by heretics, so my primary focus was on restoring moral authority and my secondary focus was on making the most absurdly vine-like family tree there ever was. I eventually got bored and started playing Stellaris again, but I think I still have the save and I might post some screenshots.
