Has anyone discovered some good navy compositions? I think maybe i keep having my fleets too big and thats what is draining my fuel soo much in my attempts at a british campaign. Ive still not got the new naval stuff locked down properly.

See ive seen people say that you shouldnt put destroyers in strike forces now and instead keep them for patrol fleets, but then others have said you should put them in, ive been keeping them out for the most part so far.

Ill try it though, im near certain that was my go to prior to man the guns, or at least something similar to it.

a) You can very easily create duke-tier vassal merchant republics.

1. Have a duchy title.
2. Have a county title.
3. Have a mayor.
4. Grant the county title to the mayor.
5. Grant the duchy title to the mayor.
6. Your merchant republic is made.

b) Merchant republics accumulate gold like mad, especially if you build trade posts in capital provinces. They also can hit very hard in crusades.

Im doing a lot better in this attempt at a british campaign in ironman, nabbed the Do you Mined achievement, though the 1000 mines ive placed in the Eastern North Sea have failed to sink literally a single ship for the half a year they have been there, British Engineering am i right, or they are just broken in this expansion at the moment.

Ive done a lot better in Africa against what appears to be literally the entire german tank army but fuel once again, brings everything i try to do to a halt, with only my convoy defense fleets in action, it will take me 5 years to get a full stockpile again, and putting any airwings into action removes all the fuel i have left. Mass producing new refineries and silos seems to be doing nothing to help. So my army is acting on its own now because the navy and airforce literally cant do anything, god damn it.
