Just gonna say that in my last game of CK2, I was in Ironman mode, and I got the Glitterhoof event twice within two years. However, it apparently didn't get the memo that it was supposed to spawn in Glitterhoof, and all it did was fire my chancellor. I have never gone from ecstatic happiness to utter despair faster than when I got the first one, reveled in its glory, and then clicked the button only to find the position of Chancellor vacant.
My best guess is that Holy Fury is now required for the existence of animal characters, and since I don't have the DLC, it tried to spawn a character that cannot exist.

On the council screen do they have a green thumbs up next to their portrait to show that they are a loyalist? I think some times someone even at Max opinion may not be a loyalist until they get land or something. Or is the council in discontent?

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

This inspired me to play a quick HOI4 game with a mod I haven't tried. Army of Iron. WW2 just ended in a victory for the Allies and the Comintern. I, communist France, with my small and quite frankly bad army somehow managed to lead us to victory.
Pretty pleased with the peace conference.
Poland never capitulated during the war. Ain't that a surprise?

Shortly after V-E Day, the USSR declared war on Luxembourg. Now we're in a war with the Allies.

My navy isn't big enough.

Also, rururu?

I think this is the first invasion of Britain I've done that's lasted for longer than 4 weeks. Usually I land at Hull through the North Sea, win a quick battle there, move as quickly as possible to get another naval base, and then I transport the rest of my army onto the mainland for a quick kill.
But unfortunately, as I got near Liverpool, the U.S. joined the war and every other Allied country dedicated their armies to defending England. Now it's in a bit of a standstill. A standstill I most likely can't come back from.
It's impossible for the Allies to win, but it's also impossible for the Comintern to win.

So I guess I'm screwed. In times like these I wish you could sue for peace. I mean, almost all of mainland Europe is under Communist control, from the BeNeLux to Albania, and Halifax is Prime Minister.
Cut me some slack, game.

Even without great blots and other sacrificial events African is typically the most bloody religion in the game behind the Aztec religion. Pick the doctrine that lets you sacrifice your enemies. Combine this with a violent bloodline and you are unkillable if not unstoppable as a general. The rest of the reform traits should focus on warfare since your expansion is limited to Ethiopia and the Muslim world meaning your battle is uphill.

Weird, though, since I'm basically able to sacrifice my enemies anyway? Is that thing going to disappear if I reform my religion without the human sacrifice doctrine?

Also I was thinking of meritocracy, but then I figured it's barely any different from the elder election succession thing I already have.

I think you will still have it, but the human sacrifice doctrine is more of a ritual thing than a chaotic offering in the battlefield, like a great blot. It gives you a new (kinda weird) CB if you sacrifice enough people.

Pretty much every time I play a Paradox game I’m also watching the NLSS or a stream.

Ooooh a new casus belli? Interesting, maybe I will take the human sacrifice doctrine.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

Oh also, if I pick the temporal ruler thing, does that (the reformer being the head) only apply to my current head of state or is it also going to be passed down?

The CB is called ‘Flower War’, you need to sacrifice 100 people (I think???), and it seriously reduces levy size in the target’s entire realm for 10 years.

Agnatic/Enatic Clans if you like Open, and who doesn’t like Open?
They ALSO give you the Patriarchal/Matriarchal Deposition CB. Very useful in certain situations.

It passes down and can be granted to someone else if you so desire. Excommunication isn’t possible with Temporal though.

So in CK2 I learned you can also play as the Hohenzollern and i decided to try and become king/emperor of Germany but it wasn't going well. Then the pope gave me a claim on Leon and so I said fuck it. The Hohenzollern will complete Reconquista.
