Tbh I think Stellaris is barely playable in the early game. Maybe I'm garbage at the game, but I really lack the patience to get started. still shamelessly bought all the DLCs, though

Yeah. As far as I can see, year is a way shorter time in Stellaris than in HOI4.

In EU4 a year is only a few minutes if you don't pause and play at a certain speed

2.2.2 has got rid of some of the needless daily calculations that were contributing to lag. I have noticed a major difference. Now they just need to fix the issue of synth and robot pops being unable to auto-migrate, that is my greatest bugbear at the moment. 2.2.3 allows you to stop the production of synth and robot pops, but that doesn't really fix the issue.

I'm really enjoying this campaign. Just kicked the crap out of the English in probably the bloodiest war I've had since my early revolts after I united Ireland + some parts of Scotland and had some Pictish/Scottish lords. I did what you guys said, and I've mostly gotten rid of my non-Irish vassals, the rest are too weak to even care about that I've just kinda ignored it.

In my Ireland > Britannia Ironman game i got lucky and was able to annex England after its king became excommunicated. This was after i inherited Scotland and fought a few smaller wars against England and with French help i was able to crush them and take them over in a single war.

Which was really handy as england can be a pain in the ass as Ireland if it unifies and gets strong as it tends to have a larger army than you.
