Well, I always lamented that I never use the geographical map mode in CKII. It is really pretty, but useless. If they found a way to incorporate geographical and political map modes I am happy.

Hey, I've started watching quill18's MegaCorp video on Youtube-

So I can't combine Mechanist with Corporate authority but- hey the options here- are still awesome...

I don't think I can do... um... RobCo anymore but- the stuff in this DLC still rocks! I can sell robot pops! You CAN SELL ROBOT POPS!

Anyways, now I got myself into making a fully independent Irish island in 1836 with its own OOB.
Ireland really is Paradox’s official tutorial island.
In this case, the tutorial is for modding.

Edit: nevermind. I was wrong. I'm still the worst.

Yeah, start in Ireland in 1066.
There arent any major threats near the island and it gives you plenty of time to learn the ropes.

This is very much a subjective opinion, but typically I would recommend following this priority list.
Martial > Intrigue OR Stewardship > Diplomacy > Learning.
But it really depends on opinion and circumstance. A small duchy with no room for military expansion may find intrigue and diplomacy more useful than martial.

Marriage is the quickest way to conquer large kingdoms unless you’re an emperor.

I like to call it the Von Habsburg method.

Poison, snakes, and manure are optional, but reccomended, to speed things along.

Side note: if you play as a dynasty in CK2, why does the game end if your dynasty no longer holds power in the nation the player leads? Surely it would make more sense to zwoop to a minor branch of the family than get a game over.

If you’re the King of France and you just pushed your brother’s claim on the Kingdom of England, you will play as the branch of your dynasty in England if you died with no children or other heirs. Game overs are rare because your dynasty will likely become HUGE, and under completely dynastic succession laws it’s basically impossible to get one after a certain point.
There are situations where you can get a game over even with a large dynasty (KEEP AN EYE ON ELECTIVE), but again... it’s rare after a certain point.

There’s a mod that lets you play as a courtier, but I’m not sure if it lets you play as a courtier with no claims.

My personal preference is Martial > Diplomacy > Stewardship > Intrigue > Learning. Yes, I deprioritize intrigue, but you can't be assassinated if your court is full of bribed sycophants.

I haven't played many of them- and thus I don't hold a strong opinion.

But, prior to Holy Fury their was a mod I had for an earlier version of CK2 which added fantastic elements to the game- magical weapons, vampires, dragons, werewolves... I believe it was called 'Fantasy Earth' or something like that- it was Fantasy something... but the mod fell behind in staying up to date with newer versions.

It even had covens and Orders of Wizardry- all built around some mythological or historical bases.

I personally enjoyed being a German Werewolf.

But yeah- since I haven't heard anyone talk about that mod I'd say it's underrated and now a bit obsolete but still- werewolves!

Fuhrerreich maybe. Weltkrieg Rise of The Kaiserreich used to hold that spot but it kinda slowed down.
Kaiserreich is the most overrated due to giving every nation a focus tree and sticking hard to their narrative which limits player agency. That being said it still has the most polish.
Don't get me started on the Cold War mod. You need a supercomputer to run it at this rate.
