Maybe it has to do with not being an American but my PC almost never bothers me with online-related notifications. Does Win10 really require the internet so much?

Better software would present a choice of involvement, and not force its user to resort to anti-spyware to disable it, to say nothing of the company's deep involvement with the United States intelligence community.
