Okay, all of those points are actually pretty fair. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer having the USSR and America there too, but I guess this is the chance to have new factions that haven't been explored before. Who knows, maybe we'll get to play as the Canadians or something.
I can agree that seeing things from a Canadian soldier’s POV could be fun. I just hope they scale back on some of the PC stuff. They’ve received a lot of backlash I recall hearing.

One female brit, who's probably part of a resistance group (which, normally, wouldn't discriminate). The part I'm not sure about is the prosthetic, to be honest. because prosthetics weren't exactly evolved at that time, so I'm not sure how well that'd end in a war as bad as the Great War (no. 2)The Derpy Democratic Republic Of Herp wrote:Kyneland wrote:I can agree that seeing things from a Canadian soldier’s POV could be fun. Cod 3's campaign let us play as the Canadians.
It would be cool in this game too.
As for the "pc" stuff having one femail brit with a prosthetic isnt the end of the world. People need to chill out.

With all due respect (exactly 0 respect), no. Fuck that. Stop humanizing fascists and nazis. If anything, it should be grittier. I'd want to watch it with great detail when I tear the nazis limb from limb. WW2 is the one war we for absolute certainty know who the absolute evil side were. Why should they be humanized? (Now, The ww1 Germans getting humanized? that I could understand)Kyneland wrote:Democratic Exodian Territories wrote:This is horrible.

Honestly, it’d be a great change to mainly see the humanity in the German soldiers, not the mindless “hurduh heil kill juden” or mooks/cannon fodder we see in most games.
A great and progressive take would be this: a German protagonist, whom joined the Wehrmacht out of duty, and has to fight against increasingly overwhelming odds and begins to fight more for his family, wife, daughter, etc., than fighting for the Reich.
Or, at least something like that, maybe.

They willingly went into it, knowing Hitler's plan was to get "living room". I don't care if they had a family or friend or whatever. The other side in that war didn't get into it because "we need more space to live in and the best space is the space those pesky slavs/etc live in". Not even talking about how anyone who didn't know about the ethnic cleansing/genocide going on was either deluded or mentally ill, but come fucking on. Even if Hitler wasn't going to explain what was going to happen to the people already in the target areas for lebensraum, they had to have the slightest bit of critical thinking to realize that it probably would involve the guns they were issued. I have no fucks to give about the Nazis, nor the Germans who knowingly fought for their regime. The Albali Republic wrote:Pilarcraft wrote:With all due respect (exactly 0 respect), no. Fuck that. Come on man, not every German was a Nazi. You want to kill cartoonishly evil Germans, play Wolfenstein.

The Only possible humanization of the Axis would be a successful Operation Valkyrie. That's literally the only time those bastards did anything close to something a human might do.Kyneland wrote:Pilarcraft wrote:With all due respect (exactly 0 respect), no. Fuck that. Whilst Hitler was legitimately popular amongst Germans, I recall, later on in the war a fair bit of that supported faded within the military. Whilst I’d love a very gritty WWII, with gore and all, I also love it to be off-balanced with equal humanisation on all sides, Axis and Allied Powers alike.

Drop your gun and surrender yourself to the allies when they get there? don't fucking shoot the gun? The soldiers make the army, if they refuse to follow orders fucking based on genocide and/or violent expulsion of entire populations, the army won't be able to do shit, as seen more times than possibly countable in human history. The fact that they didn't do anything is enough for every single one of them to be condemned.
After all, The fact they didn't like, not fire at people in Poland (to only start the shitshow that was The Axis campaigns in WW2), either means they didn't think it was wrong, or that they didn't have the balls to protest. And neither admonishes them of the guilt.

It's almost like they wanted to win the war. You know, because the last time they lost, the Allies fucked Germany in the ass. Am I saying they were justified? No. Besides, would you be willing to protest against a government that routinely killed not only people who they thought were subhuman, but dissenters too? Talk all you want, you'd better be glad you didn't have to make a choice like that.
