I think its the worst of the new movies. 2/3rds boring, awesome last third, only 2 memorable characters, bland as fuck acting, horrible fucking timing.

It's the least 'offensive' of the new movies because even if you're a huge Kyle Katarn fan like me you're not going to grumbling about how it fucked up the lore or did this or that wrong.

Honestly there should have been like a few weeks gap between R1 and 4. Makes the Star Wars feel claustrophobic. Should have had the plans taken from the fleet and moved around until eventually ending up on Leia's ship. Having Leia be at that suicide mission makes no sense.

Thank god, someone with sense. Everyone keeps praising R1 but honestly it blows.

It's true, Kotor 2 takes awhile to give you a lightsaber. I seem to recall building mine after Nar Shaddaa (always my first planet), but I could be mistaken. But, on the flip side, non-lightsaber weapons are way more useful than in the first game. And you get Force powers right from the get go. No trying to best Starkiller at level 2 here. Out of curiosity, what order are you doing the planets?

Probably Dantooine first. Makes sense to go there for lightsaber and Jedi stuff, I think. After that, I have no idea.

I'd recommend Nar Shaddaa or Onderon first/second. Those are the planets where you fill out your party, and (on Nar Shadaa) unlock Atton's Jedi class. Also, you can get Canderous again.

It certainly makes the crew’s protests a little nonsensical in retrospect.

“This is a Consular ship... We’re on a diplomatic mission...”

“I literally just saw this thing detach from the rebel flagship. I had your boy on the ceiling trying to get in, remember?”

Yeah, it does undercut ANH a bit there.

I don't like it much either, though it is my favorite Disney era film. Still, I wouldn't say those who enjoy it, or at least enjoy it more than me, are lacking in sense.

Probably nothing as even though I personally find TLJ to be very poorly made movie liking it is still a very valid opinion that can originate without bribes.

Unless the movies devolve into complete objective shit and are worse than the prequels I will watch new Star Wars movies. Solo was the only one I didn't see in theaters, not my fault that going to the theater is expensive and the movie came out like a week after TLJ.

And TLJ did give you new things... you just don't like the casino and weapons dealers. Doesn't mean they're not a new facet of the world. (As opposed to wealthy figures who are crime bosses. Had lots of those before.)

I didn't like Rogue One. I thought it had pretty bland characters who I couldn't connect with, had some really pathetic fan service (AT-AT walkers on the island that they're defending makes no sense. They're attacking vehicles), and had a pointless story that didn't need to be told (Spoiler, they get the plans and then the Death Star dies)

A new location doesn't really count as a new direction, and that's my real problem. The OT had a clear point: Luke Skywalker and the Rebellion on their heroic journey against the Empire. The Prequels, while I didn't like them, had something of a point: How Anakin became Darth Vader. I can't really find any point in the Sequel trilogy. They're really just re-telling the Tiny Plucky Rebellion/Resistance/Whatever against the Empire/First Order, and that's what it still is.

See, I'm going because even though I know it's likely to be a rehash of RotJ due to being done by Abrams, at least I know it's not going to spit in my face because Rian Johnson isn't involved.

That, and to see Papa Palps. Though I think they're only putting him in for fan service. Could be wrong, I pray I'm wrong, but I'm probably right.

I mean while the TLJ hate can get quite obnoxious I would not say Rian did nothing wrong cause he made some major fuck ups in the movie.

And on the other hand:

Saying he did ¨everything wrong¨ is also an absurd statement. Because you know TLJ is a very mixed movie that cannot really be simplified as purely good or purely bad.

That was meant to be an absurd statement, actually, though I very much doubt that Valrifell was being wholly serious either. I believe I've said before, though I could be mistaken, that Rian Johnson did a good job on the visuals, the audio, and getting a good performance out of the cast. Some of that can be chocked up to having the budget to get a good crew and give them good equipment, but as far as I can tell he's legitimately good at those things. The story, the characters, the messages and the humor, however, are mediocre at best.

Well Vala is just about to leave Dantooine. Can't think of anything particularly funny though, outside the Carth dialogues. Scoundrel/Guardian is fun though, as I remembered.

Last thing I did was meet Juhani. Busted my ass trying to pick the right dialogue choices so she'd come with cause I thought she was a Dark Side companion. Then I found out she was light, reloaded my game and killed her whining ass so I could have a red lightsaber.
