But then my second play through, I went very dark, and I remember feeling so freaking bad as Mission, Carth, Jolee, and Zaalbar freaked out about my decisions. Yeah, KotOR taught me that I'm not cut out for the supervillain life.

Honestly I just suck it up and use alternate side force powers.

My dark side runs still have the force healing.

My light side runs still let me drain life, shoot lightning, and choke a bitch.

I never did understand what the hell he was talking about.

It was pretty cool when I eventually put two and two together and realized it was probably Yuuzhan Vong related. Really makes you wonder.

What was the cat lady's name again? I remember actually killing her my first time playing the game and was always wondering "Where is that last companion i have to find?" lol

You were just as well off frankly. I don't know what it was, but I did not like her and her mopey stories. I never used her much. If I need a Jedi, I'll take Bastila or Jolee.

Also, I may be the only one, but I love Zaalbar.

I like Zaalbar too, but I never used him much post-Taris. He just doesn't have much to say, and the other companions can be real funny.

Wait wait wait... Canderous fought a Yuuzhan Vong ship!? I cannot not believe I missed that but holy shit that is cool.

If the console port's really that bad, then I may wait to get it until I get a laptop.

He describes shooting at asteroids to lure out pirates who took refuge in them and accidentally stumbling on an alien ship that apparently looked like an asteroid even after being discovered. They gave chase, but it escaped them by fleeing past the galactic rim.

It’s implied he found one of these.

I think I overexaggerated but seriously get the PC version you can mod, use cheats (which is great for roleplay). It's plenty stable but feels pretty clunky and off.

Just whatever you do, DO NOT WARP OFF TARIS. It doesn't update the ebon hawk as your home so if you use the return to function it will send you back to taris and reset a bunch of flags and fuck up a lot of things. It does allow you to interact/kill npcs you're not supposed to though.

The Phantom Menace: Check.

Gotta be honest, for all the crap this film takes, and as much as I can see some of it's faults, I love this movie. Way better than AotC imho. Better than TFA and TLJ as well, but that's a whole other can of worms.

Next up: Attack of the Clones. Hoping I'll get around to it next week.

TPM has it's issues, but it's a good movie.

I found a copy of the 2004 OT DVD release for $3 at a thrift store. Naturally, I had to buy it. Now I have 3 different sets of the OT.

I mean, KOTOR is bugged to hell all throughout the Taris part of the game, save often and prepare for a slog.

I mean, save often is just a good idea no matter the stability of the game. The amount of time you can put in between autosaves can get absurd and demoralizing if you eff something up. There's so much walking and dialog in the game.

Moosha Shakka Pakka

I can deal with "moosha shakka pakka" actually. That's short and sweet. Just don't talk to me longer than that or we'll have a serious problem. Seriously, all of the long-winded responses are enough to make anyone want to go Dark Side and kill everything.

"So, why'd you turn to the Dark Side?"
"Oh, you know, lust for power, the usual. You?"
"Tragic loss put me on the path to revenge, which ultimately led to my fall."
"Oh, neat!"
"Yeah, everyone likes that story. Hey, Jerry, how'd you fall to the Dark Side?"
"Sometimes people start talking and they just keep blabbering long after I stopped caring and it pisses me the fuck off! Finally I just started stabbing anyone who talked to me for more than 10 seconds and here I am."
"..."
"..."
"You got issues Jerry."
"Say, Jerry, why's you're watch beeping?"

What gets me about KOTOR is the repetitive head movements.

They raise their eyebrow.

They nod.

They turn their head to the side slightly while still looking at you.

Repeat forever.

Well, yeah, backtracking has always been a problem with Bioware. Swtor did have more issues on the timesink front though.

Yeah, it can be unsettling. I remember a webcomic poking fun at that, actually. Worth a laugh.

Yeah, the entire Zakuul arc was way too drawn out.

Feel like that's just MMO's in general tbh.

But admittedly Taris was one of theless interesting planets.

They are clearly out of ideas for SWTOR. I mean, an Empire coming out of nowhere and taking over a solid chunk of the galaxy was already part of the game’s premise, right? They just repeat it with Zakuul and Valkorion.

Who is, to no one’s surprise, literally the same guy as Vitiate.

Big whoop.

The problem is with the nature of an MMO. They can’t have the conflict between the Republic and the Empire ever reach a meaningful resolution because both factions have to stay more or less equal, and the storyline has become more generic and less personalized than the original class storylines were because they have to make it so that everyone can live out an RPG power fantasy of their character saving the day while at the same time writing it such that every character, be they Sith Lord or random trooper, achieves this.

Had to justify the money wasted on it. I'm glad that whole arc is not canon.
Tbh i'm actually glad all but a select few references from TOR are not canon. The story is absolute OOF.
