Overall though i really liked this episode, nice to see the New Republic show up again and even save the day by rescuing mando from the giant ice spiders. Speaking of which, their design really freaks me out. Im near certain they are the same spiders from Rebels but man they are creepy, well done on the art department for the design and the effects people.

Honestly thought frog lady was gona get eaten and Mando would have to try and find the father to give the eggs over to, but she survived, as did most of ber brood because a certain someone couldnt help himself from eating the babies.

But yeah good episode though, but the Razer Crest looks like its going to have a tendency of getting absolutely thrashed about in this show

Like seriously though can we talk about how much of a monster the child is? STOP eating the space gecko eggs you little genocidal bastard what the hell.

Do you think the rest of his species has this problem of eating everything they get their hands on? Do you reckon the jedi temple had a missing youngling crisis because Yoda kept snacking on them in the corner of the library

Seems more related to the kid being a child then anything inherent with the species. I dont think Yoda or Yaddle was clamping down on younglings.

A collection of vintage Star Wars toys found in bin bags in a garage has fetched more than £250,000 at auction.

They and other toys were left to an elderly couple, from Stourbridge, in their neighbour's will.

The couple were unaware of the value of the items, which sold in total for £410,000, and had arranged for skips to throw many of them away.

Auctioneer Chris Aston said he did not expect the items to fetch so much.

"The best piece was the vinyl cape Jawa, the guys from the desert in the original Star Wars film. Not many of these vinyl cape ones made it on to the market, so to find one sealed on the card like the one in this collection, we think there is only eight of them in the world." That item alone fetched £22,000.

The eggs aren't fertilized, so as far as baby Yoda is concerned they're just delicious eggs. His species is also amphibian or reptilian, as we seen he eats all kinds of things like frogs, spiders, etc. Chomping down on some eggs is right in his species' wheel house.

Just saw the second episode of season 2. I thought it was alright, though it really seemed like yet another filler episode. I don’t think monster of the day stories in Star Wars are all that interesting. It’s better for its in-universe politics are fantastical things like the Force. The last episode had the Krayt Dragon sure, but it also focused on characterizing the Sand People and working through the differences they have with the locals.

Star Wars aliens are also getting less and less creative. There’s a bunch of spiders. This one’s a frog. This one’s an ant. Big whoop.

There’s also an unfortunate implication with that egg joke. Does the Mandalorian not feed Baby Yoda enough? Does he really know how much food he needs?

The episode had things going for it though. I liked the call back to the prison break episode, so who knows. Maybe we’ll reach a point where every episode ends up mattering in the grand scheme of things. I also liked how the New Republic pilots were portrayed. They were professional law enforcers because the New Republic is trying to, you know, actually rule the Galaxy, but they also seemed like decent people. It’s a simple and direct way of showing how they’re better than the Empire. I also got an old western Ranger vibe from them, because they seemed pretty independent and competent. As good with a blaster as they are with an X-Wing.

In general, I like the emphasis the series has on the New Republic relative to most other Star Wars stories. A lot of writers shit on them as incredibly ineffectual, and we know they’re destroyed by the First Order in the end.

But there’s something deeply nihilistic about focusing on the Resistance, which is just an army that fights, while ignoring the New Republic, which actually tried to build something and usher in an age of peace.

I thought it was fun. Nothing groundbreaking, but a nice little detour, and a nice bit of downtime.

Seem appropriate that given the Mando is basically a video game in TV format, that we would eventually get to the escort quest.

I did think it was kind of interesting that B.Yoda kept eating those eggs. Like it's pretty clear that despite coming from a species that up until now basically consists of goody two shoes Yedi, he still has that ignorant amorality that kids tend to have. I'm kinda hopeful they'll expand on that. Let's be honest, Mando ain't exactly the perfect role model.

Also like that the Razorcrest is getting banged up again. I'ts nice to give the ships some character, and it's pretty clear that it's basically an old clunker, getting by on nothing but duct tape and hasty welding.

Okay so that was decent enough episode. Feels a bit like filler but thats not a big deal. The spiders were kinda creepy and that X-wing chase was pretty cool. I like how the New Republic pilots were portrayed. Also the child really did say that frogs bloodline was going to end there lmao.

He did do a force choke in season 1.

I think the show is definitely suggesting he needs a real role model.

I remember season 1 ended with the Mando trying to find other Jedi to teach the child properly. Now the show only mentions him looking for other Mandalorians. He can do both, but I wonder if the first plot point is still being emphasized.

Well this is post ROTJ so all the jedi are dead bar Ahsoka, Luke and any padawans he might be training at the moment and possibly Ezra? Or they could introduce another jedi who survived, probably a few of em out there. Or just more of Yodas species and maybe Mando thinks they might all have this ability.

Since Ahsoka is rumoured to show up in this season im assuming its gona involve her. Unless those rumours are bollocks.

I dunno, I think the sound of the mother dragging it's mouth across the glass and showing off its pearly whites really did it for me in the visceral sound department.
