Honestly I just wanted to destroy the throne and move on. Instead I got bogged down in this weird "Third Faction" stuff which then ended abruptly, without warning, and rather hamfistedly. Kinda like how the Eternal Empire was introduced.
Also sucks how unlike the class stories these plot lines roughly all run the same even for different factions (except Ossus/Onslaught) and how it's so blatantly obvious that the Eternal Empire plot was designed with Force users in mind primarily.
Class stories were the best part of TOR, tbh.

Capital ships in the EU are pretty broken tbh. Single turbo-laser shots possess 200 gigatons.

Having played through it with my Inquisitor, I was always curious how the story would play out with my Bounty Hunter, but I never got around to trying it. IIRC there were several pivotal scenes involving your use of the force

If I recall, I think the Sith Emperor’s consciousness sometimes lets your characters draw on his power, allowing all eight classes to use the force when the plot calls for it.

I would encourage you to be a bit more optimistic about this. Far from me to defend EA practices but things like Fallen Order have shown they can let their developers make a great game and from everything shown so far Squadrons looks pretty good.

I just realized Zakuul is basically the fully-automated luxury gay space communism meme. Valkorion literally created a society where everybody was wealthy and lived in luxury, where droids did all the hard work, where class was basically nonexistent. He was a fucking pinko.

but isn't that like, the goal of technological advancement?

Yeah but Zakuul is lame though. The first Galactic Republic wrote:So, like, Zakuul would be totally based if they didn’t invade people and have an edgy royal family?
Yeah, pretty much. Also it's probably the most gaudy thing in Star Wars history.
The Knights are cool, I guess.
