When Bulgaria is pagan Holy War the crap outta them, when they are Christian then marry with them so you can press a claim.

Alternatively you can prop them up as a strong Orthodox ally along with Georgia.

At which point (assuming you survive the savages) you hunt down every single Bulgarian royal and have their eyes removed and their names wiped from history.

For the first time ever, I've engaged one of the legendary horde nations in their prime. The Timurids. I stalled fighting them by marrying a daughter off to the original Timur, I assassinated the second Timurid, and got declared on by the third, 2-year old Timurid ruler. The war MAY have had something to do with me killing his father, he declared on me using the Rivalry CB.

Is it just me or are the Tengry and other step nomads just OP in the new versions? Like I don't know what happened but they went from something you newer saw in Europe at all to conquering half the European kingdoms including the Byzantium by the 11th century consistently.

Oh yeah, it's absurd. I started a game in 769 a while back and no joke the nomads reached Britain and ended up covering like half the god damn map.

I have begun the expansion of my empire beyond the comfort of the isles. Seized the Duchy of Orkney from the Lollard Norwegian king on my last character, as my vassals took some land in the Mediterranean, and on my new character i have seized the duchy of Brittany from the queen of Aquitaine.

Main goal is going to be france and scandinavia, possibly muslim north africa in the future.

Also everything ended badly. As Emperor Mael-Coluimn i had 3 female heirs going, all with decent stats so far, picking up okay traits and then i had a fourth child, who was an inbred lunatic boy. After waiting and waiting for disease or something to kill the child i decided to murder him, as its in ironman i can just plot to do it, so i became a tyrant and imprisoned him and executed. Then i did the same to his brother who was born afterwards.

Needless to say, everyone was a bit upset. So i then died on a suicide campaign against the Sultan of Egypt to die so i could go do my next heir. I died, then began playing as Caitlin, immediately had a civil war where half of my vassals rebelled to place an uncle on the throne, beat them, then died in childbirth at the age of 18 putting me into a nice 16 year long regency for a girl, the second she was born a second civil war kicked off where the empire was bankrupted 4 times and ended in a white peace with most of my vassals still angry.

I have no money and basically no soldiers left, so this will be fun, with another 12 years to go. Oh and for some reason im brown even though both parents were white and i had no lovers as caitlin, so thats odd.
