If Hungary doesn’t get an heir soon, France and Austria may get into a rather bloody war.
Also, people have been saying that Hungary is tough in EU4, and you’ll need to be really smart to be successful.
Economically, sure. I’ve been having issues with my ducats, and I needed to take a loan during my war with Poland. Which was a success, by the way. Took 3 provinces, and I told Poland to let Moldavia go.

But tactically? Heck no. Just try to avoid war with the Ottomans, ally Austria, and you should be fine. I also allied myself with Bohemia and France.

By the way, Castile somehow owns all of the Low Countries.

Castile inherited them from Burgundy. Like, in real history.

Started as Sorkhab Bavandid in 769 again, tried a different approach of taking the Theology focus and producing piety as fast as possible. Falsely converting to Islam proved useful at strategic intervals, but I had to act fast to form a Sultanate which the Caliph can't revoke - weirdly, the Caliph revoked a county of mine and gave it to my landed (secretly Zoroastrian) heir, and formed the duchy. Took a Miaphysite county with a fabricated claim, committed suicide and bam, able to form a Sultanate and openly practice Zoroastrianism. Caliph's got nothing on me.

After some years pass, I grow my realm and fight off the Caliph that tries to revoke my duchies (my new trick is to grant my heir everything I can, so the Caliph can't ask to revoke them from me), but I'm starting to face difficulties with where to go from here. My southern neighbour blobbed into a mega-vassal, as double-Sultan of Iraq and Persia controlling much of Arabia. My western neighbours are splintered, but are all allied to one another and one of them already mounted a coalition to take back a province I snagged off his ancestor, which I couldn't beat. A weak, independent Taid Sultanate in Eastern Persia is a good bet, but I will only bother if I can invite a claimant to take an entire province - which I've already done, by falsely converting for a few days - otherwise the Sultan will keep his de jure claims on me, and can strike whenever I'm already too busy. Impossible to get good levies because my characters have such poor martial: I educate my family in diplomacy and then go Theology focus for the piety and better traits. Even if I do go War Focus, the effect on my levies is pretty inconsequential.

Anybody know what I can do, anyway to exploit the Muslim succession mechanics to break up the megavassal blob below me? It's currently a kid at the helm, but I don't have the power to assassinate him. He's kind of messing with my achievement here, I need to get my hands on both Iraq and Persia eventually.

So I'm finally getting into EU4 now that I understand most of the fundamentals and figured out how to save money by not paying my troops.

And it's fun! I'm Castile, and I'm slowly taking a chunk out of Northern Africa, while colonising in the New World and trying to subsume Aragon and Naples into myself.

I mean, I seem to be near-constantly wracked by debt, and there was a good 80 years or so of nonstop revolts in my African holdings until I converted them and made Moroccan an accepted culture (Berbers get no quarter, though). But I'm having a good time.

Hey, it's supposed to be an alternate history game.

Yeah, but Castille taking Naples and Aragon is too far.

*shrug* The Iberian Wedding event gave me a personal union over Aragon, which itself had a personal union over Naples. Aragon broke free, but Naples hasn't, so I'm integrating them.

Once you form Spain, you can move your trade capital to Genoa and all of your economic problems should become a thing of the past.

I was actually doing really well economically until the constant revolts and colonisation, but for now I'm just barely hanging on.

That’s what happen. Though in my first Castile game, I had a lot of money and focused more on France.

France decided to rival me, but I raised their opinion of me and now we're in a royal marriage. They also have a much better military than I do, presumably because they're not in constant debt.

Also I really wish assassination were a thing in this game. :/

I have Aragon right where I want them, now it's just a matter of patience and watching that army.

There's always something a bit nerve-wracking whenever you're seiging an enemy fort and they have an army right next to it.

Playing an insanely easy game isn't very fun,
If I want to play a fuckit game, I go without limits, because snowballing then is insane.

Also, what difficulties does everyone here play on CK2? I'm a bit curious.

So I had to restart my HOI4 game...AGAIN!!! I mean, I succeeded in getting a giant Allied meatwall to fight the Soviet meatwall, but later on during the war, the U.S. joined the Allies and declared a Crusade against Fascism. So,FDR pretty much made the Allies betray me...

Damn Americans...you'll die first...once I figure out how to get over to NA...

And holy shit it's so good.

Once I finish this run I want to play the Vikings too.

So, two Stellaris games that are polar opposites.

First with Washington Resistance Army, with me as the United Human Autocracy.

Then, a brief one I tried with Alexanderians; me playing as Space Orcs.

Good luck trying to do that easily. One method is to invade from Canada or from Mexico.
