I played the game. It wasn't as bad as it was made out. It certainly was the weakest of the mass effect series, and it had issues.

Agreed. I liked it a lot, but it definitely had issues, mainly technical in my experience, and some writing issues.

But seriously, if there are ways that Aragon could be a pain in my ass without directly declaring war on me they have yet to find it. From agitating over Navarra, to being an unhelpful tit in the war we're in together, to Supporting the Portugese heir and not their own in my civil war just to spite me, to popping the Iberian wedding in the middle of said civil war, they're truly covering all bases on making life as Castile really hard.

I mean, it only took me a few dozen hours to really learn well. I'm still not great, but I'm competent.

It's like any other Paradox game in that there's a steep learning curve, but once you learn the fundamentals it's not too difficult.

learn the basics and you can win a game as most major nations. The main source of difficulty of the game is lag and when your battle hardened doomstack can't take out an inexperienced, non-fortified enemy of inferior numbers.

This is so much fun. But last time i played it was a bit confusing as to what triggers what and how.

Everything seemed pretty intuitive to me for the most part. Although, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take out the other South American nations early or wait until you've built up a bit (as I did in my game). I feel like I might've borked some of the balancing stuff.
