Though, come to think of it, do we care about Cryptid? I mean, Kenzie does, but there hasn't been much to get Victoria or the reader emotionally invested in him. Hopefully the next interlude accomplishes that, because as it stands this is only worrying from the standpoint that he might screw them over in some way. It's not the gut-punch that Kenzie waling off with Monokeros would have been.
