Fastest in hyperspace, not real space. Remember in ANH the Falcon had to go to hyperspace to escape the Imperials, who were gaining on them at sublight speeds.

Tbf, the Falcon didn't outpace the Destroyers in ESB either. They lost them through cleverness and unorthodox tactics.
