Well, statistically speaking there is a 50% chance that a sith will die by bisection by lightsaber and a chance of 50% of their dead involving a really, really deep pit. The remaining 25% died because of lightning strikes. (only the movies were used for these statistics.)

So their deaths are perhaps not the most, but still brutal.

Does decapitation really count as bisection? I think the word implies that the two pieces are roughly similar in size.

Also, if someone can survive bisection AND being dropped really, really deep, one could argue that Palpatine and Vader are still alive. We didn’t see them die, so they could be alive.
If you really care about it that much, I could be convinced to reduce the size of the “involved really, really deep pits” to 25% of the population.
