If you put Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the MCU, you have to include AoS. Heck, if you read into Vision's dialogue in Civil War enough, it's actually easier to argue that AoS is the more influential!

Err, why? I haven't seen anything of AoS so I don't know what's happening there. And, GotG-2 is part of the MCU, as it's cinematic and part of the Avengers/Infinity storylines.

To the poll question : only discuss movies with a Stan Lee cameo.

Hopefully.

Do you think MCU will reboot Ghost Rider?

Last I heard the next wave of Netflix Marvel is going to be Blade, Moon Knight, and Ghost Rider.

It creates a great big blob thing Peter's original home. This is the sort of thing that should affect other movies.

AoS, in particular series one where Sitwell showed up for example, has at least been seen to interact with the main body of the movies and even lately its plot lines have, if you read a lot into Vision's remarks, continued to line up rather than creating plot holes/continuity snarls/whichever way you want to read it.

The level of "connectedness" displayed in GotG is less than that seen in AoS, so to accept GotG you must accept AoS, and to reject AoS you must reject GotG (which is almost on Netflix levels of "main movies, what are those?").

Being movies is arbitrary by proclamation. Being part of future plotlines is dumb. May as well suggest Thanos will turn out to have been secretly Coulson's puppet and the reason he hasn't really done anything lately is because Coulson's been too busy to send him updates.

Unlikely: Ghost Rider was a main character in AoS 4.

However, Moon Knight would be cool. Just... don't kill Echo/Ronin this time, please? Also, include Echo/Ronin because she was cool.Series Two, maybe.

And it most likely will affect other movies, but we haven't seen that yet because GotG 2 is the last MCU movie released. Though I doubt we'll see mch of it in Spider-man, as I think that will be a NY-centred movie though an offhand remark might be in it. I imagine Infinity War will have something like this:

Iron Man: You were responsible for that blue blob killing dozens of people?
Star-Lord: Er...well, mostly my dad ... and I stopped him from taking over the galaxy so that evens it out, right?
Spider-man: Hey guys, look at this black goo* I found!

AoS, in particular series one where Sitwell showed up for example, has at least been seen to interact with the main body of the movies and even lately its plot lines have, if you read a lot into Vision's remarks, continued to line up rather than creating plot holes/continuity snarls/whichever way you want to read it.
What remarks of Vision exactly, as I don't remember thinking I missed something watching the movies.
Also, does AoS follow plotlines from the movies or is there any AoS that made it into the movies (and not something from the movies, mentioned in AoS and then again in subsequent movies)?

The level of "connectedness" displayed in GotG is less than that seen in AoS
That's mostly due to the fact that GotG takes place in space and AoS on Earth. As Infinity War combines the Guardians and Avengers I'd say the are more 'connected'.

Being movies is arbitrary by proclamation. Being part of future plotlines is dumb. May as well suggest Thanos will turn out to have been secretly Coulson's puppet and the reason he hasn't really done anything lately is because Coulson's been too busy to send him updates.
As it's the cinematic universe I think only the movies are canon and the the TV shows are just an expansion, which might be true. Future movies will be canon as the overall story continues (yes, GotG 2 did not contribute much, but neither did Iron Man 3) and I don't think you can just accept some films and leave others out.

And Thanos not doing anything as Coulsons' puppet makes sense as Coulson is dead. ;)

* plot twist: It's the black goo from Prometheus and Infinity War will see a full blown Xenomorph infestation of Earth.

Which will be retcons to shoehorn it in. GotG2 is set in 2014... well, two months after GotG 1.

AoS, in particular series one where Sitwell showed up for example, has at least been seen to interact with the main body of the movies and even lately its plot lines have, if you read a lot into Vision's remarks, continued to line up rather than creating plot holes/continuity snarls/whichever way you want to read it.

Yes. And Vision refers to something like exponential increase.

The level of "connectedness" displayed in GotG is less than that seen in AoS
That's mostly due to the fact that GotG takes place in space and AoS on Earth. As Infinity War combines the Guardians and Avengers I'd say the are more 'connected'.

Again, we might as well say Thanos is Coulson's lapdog.

More concerningly, GotG should have had some reference to the events of The Avengers being as they also involved Thanos.

Being movies is arbitrary by proclamation. Being part of future plotlines is dumb. May as well suggest Thanos will turn out to have been secretly Coulson's puppet and the reason he hasn't really done anything lately is because Coulson's been too busy to send him updates.

It's arbitrary to exclude Shield. It is non arbitrary to exclude GotG. The only character you can use to include GotG is that it is a film, which is practically a tautology... it's in the MCU because it's a movie, because it is a movie what happens is canonical.

Iron Man 3's ongoing plot contributions manifest in the role of Extremis in Shield Series 1 but the film, aside from being an Iron Man film, clearly connects to the prior films in the sense that the panic attacks which clearly relate to the events of The Avengers are, perhaps, the key plot point (and insofar as they're a key part of Tony's ongoing character evolution... subsequent films don't make sense without IM3).

At a certain point, you just have to realise that you're asking us to believe in logic which, apparently, excludes GotG, GotG 2, IM3 and AoS from being canonical, a tautology or that AoS is canonical.

The only kind of continuity that GotG has that Shield lacks is its being a movie... which is a ridiculous basis for its being included as non-expansion and AoS as expansion.

Now... if you want to exclude the Neftlix shows... it is a very simple matter: argue the Judas Bullet in Shield is not a Judas Bullet (helpfully they don't name it as such) and voila... all non-Netflix connections are eliminated.

I have a question for Marvel fans. I was thinking that it would be cool if there was a female version of the Winter Soldier. I know that HYDRA created more than one Winter Soldier, so it would be interesting if one of them were female. Maybe she can fight a redeemed Bucky Barnes in Infinity War. What do you all think of that?

What I would like to see are more mercenaries that are capable of taking on the heroes, like the former Crossbones. They're an aspect that wasn't totally explored.

Why were they trying to steal that biological agent? Who were they working for? Zemo? An unknown player?

I heard that she wanted to play Squirrel Girl. Maybe they can bring Squirrel Girl into the MCU. She also almost got the role of Sharon Carter. That role eventually went to Emily VanCamp.

That's true, I thought it was set around now for some reason.

Yes. And Vision refers to something like exponential increase.
I don't really get what you mean with increase.
I do remember a sudden mention of ''enhanced humans'' in the beginning of AoU, if that was in reference to enhanced humans in AoS then have to say it's canon.

More concerningly, GotG should have had some reference to the events of The Avengers being as they also involved Thanos.
The Guardians don't really care for Earth at this point and Thanos is not someone to flat out tell his plans to anyone. For me Thanos was enough of a reference, shwoing that the is behind all this without the good guys knowing anything about either that or each other.

It's arbitrary to exclude Shield. It is non arbitrary to exclude GotG. The only character you can use to include GotG is that it is a film, which is practically a tautology... it's in the MCU because it's a movie, because it is a movie what happens is canonical.
Yes, all part of the greater story so all are canon. I see AoS as an expansion to that, it can be true unless contradicted in a movie.

connects to the prior films in the sense that the panic attacks which clearly relate to the events of The Avengers are, perhaps, the key plot point (and insofar as they're a key part of Tony's ongoing character evolution... subsequent films don't make sense without IM3).
Point taken, though that development could be expected and AoU showed enough of it.

At a certain point, you just have to realise that you're asking us to believe in logic which, apparently, excludes GotG, GotG 2, IM3 and AoS from being canonical, a tautology or that AoS is canonical.
I exclude AoS and then only when the movies and series contradict.

Now... if you want to exclude the Neftlix shows... it is a very simple matter: argue the Judas Bullet in Shield is not a Judas Bullet (helpfully they don't name it as such) and voila... all non-Netflix connections are eliminated.
Just make them a part of the Marvel TV Universe, the movies aren't supreme canon there. :)

Actually there's a deleted scene to explained that. I know this particular scene because there is an Indonesian (my RL nation) played as the character here. Apparently, there was about to be a scene that Crossbones was about to sell that biological agent to the black market, and the Indonesian actor played as The Auctioneer in the black market.

Other than that, I think it is more of a side-story. It was deleted because it was considered to be too much for the pacing of the movie, sadly. Which sort of understandable.

And...I can only find links to Indonesian news source, the legitimate ones. I cannot find English-speaking sources. Not like it's the biggest news in USA, but it's a very big news in Indonesia.

Well, they plan to integrate R-rated Fox movies, so it's all good. But no more Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

Or Ian McKellen's Magneto.

Or even Patrick Stewart's Professor X.

We may see Hugh Jackman again, actually. He said in an interview in February that he said he might play the character again if he had the opportunity to be a part of the Avengers. At the time it seemed like a fantasy, but now it could happen. Here's the article proving that I'm not just rambling.

Yeah, maybe we can visit the past or different dimensions where Ian and Patrick's are the Magneto and Xavier. Considering how powerful Xavier is on exploring different timeline...

And in two days we will know whether:

- the Soul Stone is located in Wakanda or in Adam Warlock
- Cap will die
- Iron Man will die
- what Hawkeye is doing
