Apparently the Sony contract is leaked online. And, lo, a character that has Spider in their name but otherwise is nothing to do with Spider-man is an exception:

That's if that's the actual contract, of course.

So basically the same as the Quicksilver / Scarlet Witch thing.

I think a little different since there's restrictions on the names and iirc also versions (don't remember if that was wrt costumes, other hero names like how Carol's had Binary, Ms Marvel and so on or Alf reality versions though).

Given they had Skrulls in FFH I guess Jessica Drew was on the cards before Disney got extra greedy. Not that Sony are geniuses of course.

Don't expect a reply... I only logged on to commemorate a death of a celebrity I actually know of.

My take is that he went back in time in the original timeline and stayed out of history.

so I've seen plenty of backlash about Disney's recent leak about the X-Men in the MCU I have heard that Denzel Washington is to be cast as Magneto and Giancarlo Esposito as Professor X. And I wanted to here your thoughts on this

for me it seems weird that both would be portrayed by African American actors when the origins of the two most important X-Men are of Jewish and English origins. But if I could I would maybe cast Sean Connery or Brian Cox as Magneto and James Remar or Neal McDonough or Anthony Hopkins as Professor X

You trying to say African Americans* can’t be Jewish or English ;)

Srsly tho, I see the cinematic universes as basically one of those “what if” universes. Like those comics with Russian Superman, or that Marvel one where everyone turned into Zombies. So reimaginings of characters are a-okay in my book.

*heading off the American/English points with a “that’s the joke”

In order of Magneto to be a survivor of the holocaust in the MCU he'd have to be like 100 years old.

I mean, they're fictional characters and don't have defined characteristics, since they can be whatever we want them to be (throwback to white Nick Fury)

But at the same time, the Civil Rights Movement parallels are getting a little on the nose.

Beacuse dammit I allready hated almost all corporations and this event takes my hatred of corprations to a new level I never thought possible.

He'd need to be in his 80s at minimum.

That said, I realized a few months back there's no reason why he can't be - his powers don't require him to be physically capable, we could have both sides be led by wheelchair-bound people if we wanted.

Reasons to hate corporations (exhaustive):

1. Explotation of the working class l
2. Spiderman not in MCU >:(
3. Destruction of the environment

Criple fight!
Doesn't the use of his powers strain his body, though?

no because I didn't see him collapse from an aneurism or other medical ailment while he made the Golden Gate bridge float all the way to Alcatraz

I'm going to go out on a limb and say 'it depends on the writer' ;)

Yes

Also unironcly spiderman leaving the mcu is the biggest reason against corporations rn.

There big excuse is "we do what makes money!!11!" but here ontop of all the other reasons why thats b.s. we have Spiderman being in some of the biggest movies of all time makeing shit tons of millions, billions with endgame.

Still pulled him out over some % signs.

Fuck Sony and Disney untill they get there shit together.

That's no fun. :(

I mean, Xavier just puts a hand to his head when he needs to really concentrate but Magneto waves his arms and hands around when doing stuff. On the other hand I just read a comic where Magneto teleports some X-men using his powers and can summon his helmet from across the globe. And has some psychic powers.

After watching Civil War again I noticed that the Dutch news (yay) is on in Zemo's hotelroom, with German text (booh).

I just read earlier while at work that Wolverine in the MCU might be female more specifically X-23 from Logan. so with that in mind would you see a potential Disney/Marvel X-Men movie with Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Dafne Keen?

Honestly with the kind of epic almost 20 year run of Hugh Jackman defining that role the best thing they could probably do is focus on X-23 instead.

I don't wanna see X-23. They'd have to tone her way down for the MCU. I like her bloodthirsty and crazy.

They could limit her to Deadpool movies only
