During the end credits, when only actor's names were being shown on the screen, my friend and I started going "dead" or "alive" based on what happened to their character in the conclusion of the movie. We weren't loud, but I'm sure most of the people sitting in stunned silence throughout the theater could hear us. A few even chuckled.

Can I watch that trailer if I haven't seen Infinity War? I've been a bit suspicious of stuff lately... I was sitting around the corner and overheard what sounded a lot like someone having gone to watch it....

The trailer's spoiler-free, though there are probably spoilers in the comments.

DCEU villains are crap, except for maybe Zod and Ares.

MCU has gotten much better about that.

I liked Ares and Zod too.

For the MCU i would rate them:

Awesome: Thanos
Very good: Vulture, Grand Master (he would be a villain right? Also its geoff fucking goldblum, he was amazing)
Good: Hella (Or Hela?) Ultron and Loki. (Zemo i think im in the minority in liking him)
Okay/meh: All the Ironman villains (Stane i thought was the best, but ive not watched iron man 1 in fucking ages) Malekith was wasted a lot, could have had more done. Red Skull,

I cant fucking remember the others off the top of my head lol

I cant say anything about Killmonger as i have yet to still watch black panther, but i heard people really liked him.

Good list. I'd throw Loki into "very good".

Grand Master didn't feel like a villain, I'd label him as an "antagonist by circumstance".

Please, someone correct me if my observations below are unfair or otherwise incorrect or misrepresentative.

Spoiler Alert: Killmonger
I wouldn't put him at the top spot. He's definitely tragic and interesting, but his motivations don't seem to line up
In my opinion and seem to jump around.

He's T'Challa's cousin and wants to usurp him (Seeing himself as the rightful king). And then he wants attack those he calls "the colonizers".

1. Wakanda was never colonized, as was explicitly stated. In fact the isolationist state is in East Africa(The Atlantic
Slave Trade was mainly focused in West Africa.) so how has he been personally effected? How does he empathize with Non-Wakandan Africans?

This is like an Italian ultranationalist ranting on the hardships the Finns have suffered. Why? Wouldn't be in-character according to what we think we know about the character?

Could it be because those thoughts weren't his own, but we're just indoctrination from his father?

2. Or does he not believe in this at all and is using his father's mission as a cover for (As Tony Stark puts it) "good old fashioned revenge" on the nation that killed his father by twisting it into the antithesis of its former self and putting it on a path of self-destruction?

Lots to think about...

Lots to think about...

Killmonger wasn't raised in Wakanda. He was raised in the slums of Oakland and for the last half of his childhood without a father. He grew up in an environment and culture that didn't care that there were different parts of Africa, there were just Africans and they were by and large in western society, disposable labor. While Wakanda wasn't effected it is that very isolation that Killmonger felt was wrong with the Wakandan leadership. Wakanda could have prevented colonialism, it could have prevented the slave trade. By his estimation, had Wakanda lived up to its potential Africa would be the most powerful continent in the world instead of suffering. That the king of Wakanda would kill his own father to prevent Wakanda from using its power to relieve the oppression drives him to replace the Wakandan leadership.

And what makes him great and the Black Panther movie great, T'Challa agrees. He agrees that Wakandan isolationism has made Wakanda complicit in the exploitation of everyone around them, that everyone else from Africa suffers from their inaction. And he deeply feels the wrong done to Killmonger when T'Challa's father killed Killmongers. But Killmonger has created a non-compromisable situation. The classic "We'll only kill half the jews" example. T'Challa and Killmonger agree on the problem but not the solution, and the impasse is unworkable. Meaning that the situation has to be resolved with super hero shenanigans. Which makes it a great super hero movie and Killmonger a top notch villain.

Honestly, Marvel has had some fucking spectacular villains. Vulture was great, motivated by a wrong, he doesn't necessarily see himself as a good guy, but he has a decent argument that the good guys are shit. Kingpin doesn't see himself as the villain all the way up to the point he's arrested. Killgrave was fucking spectacular. It's just that they've ended up with some milquetoast ones that are just the good guy, but bad. Iron Monger, Yellowjacket, sadly Red Skull.

I'll put HYDRA in Captain America: Winter Soldier as either Good or meh. Alexander Pierce maybe good, but the rest of HYDRA like Crossbones and Winter Soldier as meh/okay.

Abomination/Blonsky is meh.

Ivan Vanko should've been good or even very good, but scripts didn't support it and Mickey Rourke was really angry, as he even went to Russian prisons for research. Justin Hammer is definitely okay/meh. Stane...probably meh, though he could be in the good rank. Yellowjacket is meh too.

I'm not sure about GotG's villain in the first and second movie.
