If you put Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the MCU, you have to include AoS. Heck, if you read into Vision's dialogue in Civil War enough, it's actually easier to argue that AoS is the more influential!

To the poll question : only discuss movies with a Stan Lee cameo.
Hopefully.
Do you think MCU will reboot Ghost Rider?

And it most likely will affect other movies, but we haven't seen that yet because GotG 2 is the last MCU movie released. Though I doubt we'll see mch of it in Spider-man, as I think that will be a NY-centred movie though an offhand remark might be in it. I imagine Infinity War will have something like this:Forsher wrote:HC Eredivisie wrote:Err, why? I haven't seen anything of AoS so I don't know what's happening there. It creates a great big blob thing Peter's original home. This is the sort of thing that should affect other movies.
What remarks of Vision exactly, as I don't remember thinking I missed something watching the movies.AoS, in particular series one where Sitwell showed up for example, has at least been seen to interact with the main body of the movies and even lately its plot lines have, if you read a lot into Vision's remarks, continued to line up rather than creating plot holes/continuity snarls/whichever way you want to read it.
That's mostly due to the fact that GotG takes place in space and AoS on Earth. As Infinity War combines the Guardians and Avengers I'd say the are more 'connected'.The level of "connectedness" displayed in GotG is less than that seen in AoS
As it's the cinematic universe I think only the movies are canon and the the TV shows are just an expansion, which might be true. Future movies will be canon as the overall story continues (yes, GotG 2 did not contribute much, but neither did Iron Man 3) and I don't think you can just accept some films and leave others out.Being movies is arbitrary by proclamation. Being part of future plotlines is dumb. May as well suggest Thanos will turn out to have been secretly Coulson's puppet and the reason he hasn't really done anything lately is because Coulson's been too busy to send him updates.

Iron Man: You were responsible for that blue blob killing dozens of people?
Star-Lord: Er...well, mostly my dad ... and I stopped him from taking over the galaxy so that evens it out, right?
Spider-man: Hey guys, look at this black goo* I found!

Also, does AoS follow plotlines from the movies or is there any AoS that made it into the movies (and not something from the movies, mentioned in AoS and then again in subsequent movies)?

And Thanos not doing anything as Coulsons' puppet makes sense as Coulson is dead.
* plot twist: It's the black goo from Prometheus and Infinity War will see a full blown Xenomorph infestation of Earth.

What do you all think of that?

Don't read if you haven't seen Civil War.They did. Zemo killed her... along with the others.

That's true, I thought it was set around now for some reason.Forsher wrote:HC Eredivisie wrote:And it most likely will affect other movies, but we haven't seen that yet because GotG 2 is the last MCU movie released. Which will be retcons to shoehorn it in. GotG2 is set in 2014... well, two months after GotG 1.
I don't really get what you mean with increase.Yes. And Vision refers to something like exponential increase.
The Guardians don't really care for Earth at this point and Thanos is not someone to flat out tell his plans to anyone. For me Thanos was enough of a reference, shwoing that the is behind all this without the good guys knowing anything about either that or each other.More concerningly, GotG should have had some reference to the events of The Avengers being as they also involved Thanos.
Yes, all part of the greater story so all are canon. I see AoS as an expansion to that, it can be true unless contradicted in a movie. It's arbitrary to exclude Shield. It is non arbitrary to exclude GotG. The only character you can use to include GotG is that it is a film, which is practically a tautology... it's in the MCU because it's a movie, because it is a movie what happens is canonical.
Point taken, though that development could be expected and AoU showed enough of it.connects to the prior films in the sense that the panic attacks which clearly relate to the events of The Avengers are, perhaps, the key plot point (and insofar as they're a key part of Tony's ongoing character evolution... subsequent films don't make sense without IM3).
I exclude AoS and then only when the movies and series contradict. At a certain point, you just have to realise that you're asking us to believe in logic which, apparently, excludes GotG, GotG 2, IM3 and AoS from being canonical, a tautology or that AoS is canonical.
Just make them a part of the Marvel TV Universe, the movies aren't supreme canon there.Now... if you want to exclude the Neftlix shows... it is a very simple matter: argue the Judas Bullet in Shield is not a Judas Bullet (helpfully they don't name it as such) and voila... all non-Netflix connections are eliminated.
I can't handle both Anna Kendrick and Elisabeth Olson ón screen at the same time.

...Or just be her own separate character unrelated to the Winter Soldier?
What I would like to see are more mercenaries that are capable of taking on the heroes, like the former Crossbones. They're an aspect that wasn't totally explored.
Why were they trying to steal that biological agent? Who were they working for? Zemo? An unknown player?

Though I do like James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Prof X and Magneto, so that's not too bad.
