Animals of Farthing Wood discussion thread

Has anyone on this site ever seen the Animals of Farthing Wood TV show or read the books? Just so the newbies can catch up, it was basically about these animals (it started out with Fox, Badger, Owl, Weasel, Vixen, Whistler and some smaller animals) as they basically trekked across England to find a sanctuary called White Deer Park after their home, the titular Farthing Wood, was bulldozed by humans. After they get there, they must struggle to survive in a new environment filled with hostile animals (such as Scarface the Blue Fox (Or Red Fox, if you've read the novels) and Bully the Rat.

This show is one of my favourite shows of all-time.

Just to get the questions out of the way, Fox, Vixen and Badger are my favourite characters, I detested Weasel and Season 2 is my favourite season.

Just so I'm seen as fair, both the books and the TV show are allowed to be discussed.

Oh man, I remember that. They don't make kids shows that brutal anymore.

"Walking Dead" got nothing on "Animals of Farthing Wood". That scene with the shrike was frikking metal.

There was also the road crossing, and I've a vague recollection of some nasty business with bear trap? And of course bunch of other fun stuff for the whole family.

In terms of the violence, the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are nothing but gore porn. The violence in those shows have no rhyme, reasoning or purpose. In the Animals of Farthing Wood, the violence has a purpose.

So, how do you compare it to Watership Down, or Zootopia?

I haven't seen Zootopia.

Watership Down is about on the same level as Farthing Wood, but the former is a bit more bloody than the latter.
