It does have a lot of flaws, and I wish the fandom wouldn't kill you just for talking about them.

Frame rate- lip syncing for cutscenes.

That's the only flaws I've had so far.

Also spending 5 hours looking for boars.
That too.

I'm really surprised how fast it was for the "update" thing that happens every single time you put a new disc in on the Wii U.
Maybe 20 minutes, at the most.

Completing the map was actually one of the very first things I did once I got off the Great Plateau. Some of them were quite difficult to do, but it made travelling much faster when I did.

I'd say I'm at about 55% for finding the shrines, and there's about five or six of the ones that I have discovered that have stumped me.

Got another Divine Beast the other day, so just one more to go now, and it's one I'm dreading.

It seems that BOTW continues the Zelda tradition of its own "sneaking past the guards" moment. Although this time around it's much more challenging. Getting past the Yiga Clan is one of the hardest things in the game.

I've also found the Ganon bosses to be kinda pushovers. All it takes is hitting them with the right kind of arrow, and wailing on them with a powerful sword when they're on the ground. The Lynels are way more difficult than any of the bosses.

I just did the Yiga Clan Hideout today. Died on it more than any area outside the Great Plateau.
I probably died the most on a cliff in my first day of playing.
I thought I could make so many jumps.

I couldn't.

This game is hard. But, fun.
ALSO FIRST BLOOD MOON OF DEEEAAAAAAAATTTHHHHH!!!

That was fun.

Fortunately mostly on an open field surrounded by cliffs.
Got shot at by Bokomoblins riding horses, but that was it.
Killed some Moblins as well
(Why are they so huge?)

That cutscene was cool, though.
Currently trying to get to Habeno (I think that's right?)
Also-Stone Talus, I hate you soooo muuuuuccchhhhhh
Also saw my first Fire Wizzrobe from a distance.
That was fun.

I actually didn't have too much of a problem with the Ice Talus, or the Stone variety. I didn't encounter a Lava one while I was in Eldin.

I can't stress enough how much I hate Lynels. They're easily the toughest bastards in the entire game. I'm still at that point where I run whenever I see one.

I wasn't confident in my ability to take on just the red one until I had at least tier 3 upgraded armor and something like 16 hearts and a large stock of full recovery meals in my inventory. I've fought several since, including the white-maned and the goddamn silver ones. They get easier as you get more practice/have more health/better equipment, but yeesh, they are definitely a pain in the ass.

It does get easier as the game goes on and you do more shrines and get better weapons/armor. So don't think you're gonna be killed in one hit by every enemy for the rest of the game.

Yeesssss.....

I knew that, but still

That steel sledgehammer does a LOT of damage for in the beginning- 16.
Too bad it broke, though.

Currently using clubs for weapons cause why not.

Also I pulled off shooting while walking backwards.
Bunch of Stals and Bokolobins teamed up on me, of course, I ran away cause I wasted most of my arrows but I killed over half of them.

This game is fun.
Requires you to plan, though.

How to win every situation:

Have a 5-shot Lynel bow with Ancient Arrows.

Bomb arrows are a possible alternative. Sure, they don't kill everything in one hit, but just look at all of the fireworks!

That was pretty much my strategy for Windblight Ganon :p

....So...

third day:

Met Simon and that one chick at the lab.

Ran out of weapons! And had to leave Zora's Domain and go get some (they respawn each time you quit the game, quite happy about that)

Got Labranya (close enough?) Tower

Tried to get the Central Tower- Did not work out.... (Like 5 guardians= lots and lots of death)

I met Sipon- HE IS AWESOME
Also, did they remake a bit of the Spirit Track overworld for his theme? Seems like it.

Found the Bridge of Hylia
(Man is it in bad shape)

Got my first memory.
Then got the Champion's Tunic

Also- the "two knockouts per game"
Yeah.
Does that happen in this one?

Fourth day

I DID A LOT.

I freed Ruta. (Did mostly entire Zora quest in ONE DAY)

Met Mipha (She is awesome)

got a lot of shrines.

Tried to get the Woodland tower...

Tried to get the Faron tower (Why is Faron a JUNGLE?)

Survived being blasted by lightning (awesome)

Upgraded my stamina by 1/4

Now have 5 hearts.

I AM NOW NOT BROKE! (Over 1, 000 Rupees)

Beat the Trial of Power shrine.

While we're on the topic of Divine Beasts, what order did everyone fight them in?

For me, I did Medoh, then Ruta, and Rudania. I've yet to start Naboris.

I've found Revali's Gale to be the most useful of the abilities. It made travelling much easier, especially for getting to the harder to reach towers.

Cryonis is still by far my least used rune. The others get used a fair amount, especially bombs.

I've been managing to play the game at least an hour a day after work for over a month, so at this point I have a shitton of ingredients and rupees (over 20,000 at this point). I remember having so few of both at the beginning of the game.

The fact that I'm still playing the game at this point speaks volumes. I would have beat any other Zelda game after this long playing it.

Ruta, Rudania, Naboris, and I just finished off Medoh last night. 114 shrines, maxed out stamina, 41,000 rupees, over 300 Korok seeds (bow inventory maxed out) and all my most frequently used clothing sets at tier 4, with everything at least tier 2 and most at tier 3. Need to farm more ingredients to get the rest of my gear to max level.... which will entail going after a lot of Lynels. I've got at least 4 clothing items that require Lynel guts for upgrading, and white-maned or silvers are the ones that drop those.

Urbosa's Fury is a godsend for that, though. Especially on silver Lynels. Go into a fight with one of those with a full three charges and you can save a lot of wear and tear on your weapons.

EDIT TO ADD:
ALL SHRINES COMPLETE! And all I got was this lousy tshirt. XD Damn but they make you work for the green tunic in this one. :P Also, holy hell, farming items to upgrade it is going to be ouch. I mean, I knew you could get scales and horn fragments off the dragons... apparently claws and fangs as well, because the horns weren't enough of a pain in the ass target to hit!

I really, REALLY like the art direction they went with this.
Also the fact that they went with a Celtic overall soundtrack.
Also, I like how they ditched the weird design of the Master Sword and went back to the Ocarina design
Meaning, straight blade for around...2 inches?
then that part of the blade that has the Triforce engraved into it, then it goes back to being straight.
Also, if it was that messed up 100 years ago, how did it return to perfect condition?

Also the fact that they went with a Celtic overall soundtrack.
Also, I like how they ditched the weird design of the Master Sword and went back to the Ocarina design
Meaning, straight blade for around...2 inches?
then that part of the blade that has the Triforce engraved into it, then it goes back to being straight.
Also, if it was that messed up 100 years ago, how did it return to perfect condition?

Magic. Lots and lots of divine magic. :P

At least, that's about the only explanation that makes any sense, anyhow. Any real/nonmagical blade with chips and gouges that severe in it (especially that particularly deep gouge that digs into the center of the blade and not just the cutting edges) would basically be a lost cause and require completely reforging the blade. Since we can safely assume that in the aftermath of the Calamity there were no super-talented magical swordsmiths nor the holy flames from Skyward Sword available to do a reforging, "the sword magically repaired itself" is about the only explanation.
