Wellp, my Stellaris game just had a galaxy wide war kick off, all the while an extra-galactic force is inbound to the eastern fringes of the galaxy. My Federation, The Holy Front, declared war on a loose alliance of despots and slavers in retaliation for their assault on another Federation. I just hope that when the crisis does arrive, it focuses on our enemy before us.

Make peace with the despots and slavers. You'll need them to defend the galaxy.

So my Glorious Byzzie Empire sploded which was not fun. I raged and started a new one. Still doing well but need a way to not have to county conquest my way up Italoslavia. Any way to do that? I tried claims but the people would just get the claims and not be my vassals.

The politics going on in my current Victoria 2 game as America has been rather interesting.

First up was the was the war to puppet Korea that my ally Japan wanted. I jumped into the war without looking and all of a sudden it was Japan and I versus the Soviet Union, who I was NOT expecting. I was more or less planning to let Japan fail up until the USSR started making outrageous demands. Out of all of them, they sought to convert me to communism, which was unforgivable. I dispatched a fleet with two powerful armies to take the fight to Korea and see the war ended myself. And then I finally noticed that I was the war leader. Called in Germany to the war and suddenly the Russians weren't so demanding anymore. The way it played out felt like an alt-version of WWII. The Axis and America fighting side-by-side against the Comintern while the Allies stayed on the sidelines.

The time between 1908 and 1913 shall become known as the period of World War 1. Three wars total were fought, one of them being a true Great War, but all of them containing Great Powers:

--- The Great War to Dismantle the British Empire had its origins about a decade ago when the British mistreated the Irish so badly that they declared their independence. Sensing weakness in their Empire, I took my opportunity. I sailed over to Ireland and set up a puppet government. Ireland was to be an American staging base to strike the heart of the Kingdom. Years later, the nation of Canada had claimed its place as a Great Power. I did not approve of this posturing. Troops being stationed in Ireland was already an operation in progress when Canada entered the stage and that was the spark that lit the fuse. The humiliation of Canada was the initial goal of the war. And so things began. Germany and America (and midway through the war, Scandinavia) versus the United Kingdom and Canada. The most vicious battles in the war were fought between Seattle and Vancouver, crazily enough. Both sides traded severe blows to each other there. Ultimately, the occupation of the British Isles did not convince their alliance to surrender until it was shown that Canadian troops were subjugated once and for all.

--- Sensing opportunity and weakness in the German-American alliance, France struck in an effort to reconquer land lost decades ago about ~2 years into the ongoing Great War. The German army was mighty, though, and kept the French at bay. Through sheer amount of battles alone, the war with France was forced back. The only tribute extracted from the French was the tiny island of St. Pierre and Miquelon, over in Newfoundland. The thought of dissolving the French Empire was conceived of, but with so much going on in the world, the governments of America and Germany agreed to settle and deal with more immediate threats. This was the first of the three wars to be ended.

--- Merely a month or so after the French attack on Germany, Italy seized its own opportunity capitalize on the chaos in the world to declare war upon Austria, calling their ally Germany to arms. German focus shifted to the Austrians, who were now striking the heart of Germany. Germany fought a two front war fighting France's armies to dust while simultaneously beating back the Austrians and even managing to siege down key Austrian fortifications. Austria ended up overwhelmed by the attention that it was shown. Control of the war had been deferred to America, but no American troops ever actually contributed this war at all. Arrogant American diplomats eventually came to the table and made the demand to dissolve the communist Austrian government and establish a democracy, to which all parties accepted very graciously.

All in all, this was probably the most Great Power on Great Power action at once and within a relatively short period of time that I've ever experienced. A truly pleasing World War experience. I don't I've had so much fun mini-managing tactics by pausing every other day in quite some time.

Oh man that sounds awesome! Not only did Ireland get independence, the SU formed, Austria went communist, and even Scandinavia formed! Any chance you could get a screenshot of the world for us?

To be honest, I don't think there's anything too special going on in regards to the map. Just a pretty standard British Empire dissolution. It was the political-military intrigue that really seemed compelling. Nevertheless, here you go:

Nah, Paradox's daughter died before giving Taleworld's an heir, so their alliance fell apart due to the lack of marriage ties.

Right so im the Cevasian Tech Communes, and i just annexed one of my rivals which now makes up my north western territory next to the orange dudes at the end of the galaxy. Now the issue is the big power of the galaxy, the Gagassi Republic have got superior border influence than me and they have just pushed my border all the way back and taken like a dozen border systems on my eastern border.

And for some reason the militant isolationists to the south took no issue what so ever with them expanding all along the border and taking everything there, though they freaked out when i placed one frontier station near them. Now im on good terms with them but they have become protective of me and i could be their vassal if i wanted to, but im not sure about doing it. Think ill just commit to another massive military build up campaign, it will put me in the red with EC but ive got more than enough minerals coming in and stocked to sell them off for EC when i need to.

But how i can push back their borders?

So i had an election last night before i went to bed and did not have enough influence to pick a candidate so i just let it go and the curator scientist i had became my new leader.

How to survive a War in Heaven at 2316?:

Well by not joining ANY faction, not even the unaligned and get the job done, let the idiots kill each other.

Funny though was, that the Xenophile AE despite puppeted several smaller empires most joined the Xenophobe as thralls and ALOT actually which from one point is weird but the other is due they hate them for they were the first to "lash out" against the small guy.

I was playing a tall gameplay by puppeting a lot of empires early one, 4 actually and another near the beginning of the war plus a massive tributary which unfortunately fallen mid game. Damn being a hard ride.

I could have invaded the FE of materialists but thing is from a last war my fleet is cut off and cannot return and has a sweet dreadnought on it. On one hand I want to disband it to ease my maitance and make a brand new but on the other I wanted to wait out in case borders re-open, any thoughts of what should I do?

Ive used up all my minerals rebuilding and upgrading my war fleet, i need 20k to rebuild one ring world section on the cybrex homeworld.

Im currently at war with those bubble head bird pricks to annex them to link up the cybrex homeworld with my own territory as its isolated on its own. And hopefully that can help push back the borders of my protective neighbour a bit more.

Im also now researching the expansion tradition group to help with more influence and unity, because i cant really expand anywhere other than through war at this stage and i can cut down on the amount of resources and influence outposts need this way which will help a bit.
