I'm currently at about 400 years in a WRE-Roman Empire run, longest I've played so far in ET is about 1,000 years. Always highest speed.

As long as I remain interested in that particular game. The furthest I've ever gotten, I think, was from the start (Year 2) to the 1700s.

Always on 5 speed. I've set up my message settings to pause on important messages like revolts, though.

I still unable to play more than just 400 - 500 years. It's so boring to play it I don't even know whether it's the fault of myself or the fault of EUIV.

Pace? 3 or 4. 5 is unmanageable.

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

"Of all of the odd consequences of the Gothic Migration through Arabia, perhaps the oddest is the recurring mention of the Qurayza family in Gothic records, even during the period of Athalok Longshanks, some fifty years after Gothic departure from Arabia. The Qurayza family was a Semitic Jewish family from the period of the Gothic occupation of the City of Muscat, the biggest city in what is now Oman. The Quayza family, or, at least a portion of it, was known to have traveled with the Goths Eastwards, first into the Maldives, before finally arriving in Sri Lanka. They contributed significantly to the Gothic administration during the years of Fridarik the Victorious thanks to Khaireddin Qurayza, and as such were given royal patronage. By 538, Khaireddin's granddaughter, Saaman Qurayza, still maintained her Jewish faith and acted as a concubine for Athalok Longshanks, while her son, biologically from before her time as Athalok's concubine, Hathus Akhnassunus Qurayza, served as a courtier and later married a member of the Crimling royal family; Athalok Longshanks' daughter Rikiberga. Saaman, a tutor for many Crimlings, was also probably responsible for the conversion of Thurismund Crimling, nephew of Athalok, to Judaism."

So before I go to war with England I need to know something.
If I have 14 heavy ships and 4 light ships, and they have 5 heavy ships and 9 light ships.
And the fighting will be only in the open sea where heavy ships dominate...should I declare war?

In my experience, fighting England on the high seas is absolutely insane and broken in favor of England. I've had more than double their heavies before and lost because of the outrageous English buffs. I've tried testing things between heavy ship ability versus morale to see which is more effective and I'm pretty sure the key to English success is their morale. So if you've got the money, try rolling for one of those advisers. Also a good thing to be mindful of, engagement width is a thing in naval battles now. I haven't played around with this much, but a general rule I follow is to partition my fleet into their classes and make sure the heavies go into combat first with any other ships following, a day behind. It can be mini-management hell sometimes. Thankfully, England is pretty much the only nation on the planet where you have to be concerned about these things.

In your specific situation of 14/4 versus 5/9 . . . you'll most likely lose an obnoxious amount of ships for being triple their strength in numbers, but I would sincerely hope you win that fight. I'll be just as pissed as you if that fight fails.

Hey let's leave that discussion for the hundreds of theological threads on here.

Also has anyone else here played with the shattered world mod for CK2? I love the duchy mode on it so much. I've got a game as the Duke > King of Castile where the Sunnis have almost completely been driven from NA (sadly since they keep converting in my holy wars instead of giving up their land like good little Infidels), the Miaphysites have made a complete comeback and own from Ethiopia to up to Armenia, and Norway just got crusaded since it was still Germanic all the way in 1150.

You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.
