The Ottomans have been completely fucked by me and the rest of europe. In my last war i took tripoli from them to get a foot hold in africa, and then via events they were forced to release Bulgaria and Albania, thus ceding all the land they held in europe bar their capital. I then promptly invaded Bulgaria and annexed most of it, now its just a little sliver of land on the coast.
This was before my latest war with Prussia where i took upper Silesia from them and humiliated them. Also the dutch annexed belgium, didnt even see it happen, it was just gone one day

What's it like fighting Prussia? I've been tempted to try an Austria game but I balked when I saw that most of the army was full of infantry and not regulars.

What are your war policies?
Are you friendly enough to be able to pull in everyone for a war if you offer them something. Could offset the military difference.

If I find I can't expand my borders, I start terraforming planets and building habitats to grow my economy to support a bigger fleet to go conquering. Fleet limits are ultimately just a suggestion if you can pack enough habitats with solar power plants.

I've got them set to Defensive Wars only, however I set it to that early on in the game. Like really early. Now I didn't think about pulling the entire galaxy into war would be a good idea, however you might be right. I've got over 100 opinion with all the NPC empires. Maybe I could lure the guy into a diplomatic trap and have him declare on me, then call in my allies?

If you switch up your war policy so you can declare something like a Liberation war, you should be able to offer all your allies incentive to join in.
Like, if one of them has offensive wars allowed, you'll still be able to cede them a planet as a war goal, even if you take over planets.
If you can liberate the planet, they'll form a new NPC with all your ethics and a very good opinion. You'll then be able to vassalise them, make them a protectorate, or just have a new friendly neighbour rather than a hostile one.
How feasible is a federation for you? Could be a possibility.

Thanks! I'll definitely give this a try. Now as for Federations, for some reason the other NPC's are still like "nah, go away" when I ask them about it, even if I have like really good relations with them. I can't tell if this is a bug, or something to do with how I've set my game up.
