Let's look at national anthems in a new way: their badass level, anthems that inspire their nations' citizens to patriotism and rouses them up. Personally, I think the Vietnamese national anthem is the most badass. I'll let the lyrics explain themselves.
Soldiers of Vietnam, marching onward
United in determination to save the nation,
Our steps resound on the long and arduous road.
Our flag, reddened with the blood of victory, bears the spirit of the country.
The rumbling of distant gunfire joins in our marching song.
Our glorious path is built on the corpses of our foes.
Overcoming hardship, together we build our resistance bases.
For the People, let us fight ceaselessly,
Hasten to the battlefield!
Forward! All forward!
Vietnam is everlasting.
Soldiers of Vietnam, marching onward
The gold star afluttering
Leading our people and our land out of misery
Joining hands in our struggle to build a new life.
Rising in unison, smashing the chains and shackles to smithereens.
For too long have we swallowed our hatred.
Vow to sacrifice for a brighter life.
For the People, let us fight ceaselessly,
Hasten to the battlefield!
Forward! All forward!
Vietnam is everlasting.
Here, we have an entire song dedicated to soldiers fighting for their country, like it's La Marseillaise—which, I'll admit, is also pretty badass.
But that's my side. What about you, NSG? What do you think the most badass national anthem is? Do its lyrics or its arrangement give it a powerful feeling?
Include a link, if you can. I'm pretty sure we'd love to compare ours to yours.
