My point is that Bethesda has the freedom to go ANYWHERE on the Elder Scrolls timeline to create their games. Hell, they could branch off into another timeline where the Red Mountain never erupted if they thought it would be appropriate. A game set in Morrowind has no obligation to be a depressing, lifeless husk! Hell, they could just remake 3 on a new engine and ship it and everyone would love it.

Besides all of that, I'd rather see a province we haven't been to before. Give us the Orsiniums, the Black Marshes, the Akavirs, and they'll make BANK.

They can Dragon Break their way out of explaining all the things your character did in a game, but they can't Dragon Break a game away. Not without coming up with a whole new line of lore and making something more complicated than any game designer or story writer really wants to fuck with.

Naw, I stand by what I said originally. They'd have to make whole new Akatosh lore with the possibility of all these different timelines existing simultaneously in then people'd complain if they can't do anything absolutely fucking awesome with it in future games, or why they won't evolve the idea further. Because it'd probably descend into a shitstorm of jumping into alternate timelines or something instead of playing as a special race on the magical continent of Tamriel, as a special being that kicks ass during a Tamriel-wide existential crisis. It'd turn into a much, much messier version of Portal or Inception or something. The devs try to justify the story in the greater TES universe. And it's usually with the easily explained away Dragon Breaks, as I explained above.

The Daedric Princes are a pretty recurring theme throughout TES games; the Aedra, too, on some level. Then, there's General Falx Carius, an Imperial fort commander from the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind, and Master Neloth (of Great House Telvanni) from the base Morrowind game, who both reappear in the Dragonborn expansion for Skyrim. There's also Lucien Lachance, the Dark Brotherhood recruiter from Oblivion, who makes a reappearance in Skyrim (as the Spectral Assassin you get a spell to summon).

Im curious if people think Florentius of the Dawnguard is actually talking to Arkay? He could be crazy but I think the evidence points to yes.

While the Aedra are not know to have physical contact with mortals there are several signs of it being true in his case. When he talks it certainly seems like someone does respond. He also knows things he couldn't possibly know. What do others think?

Sinderion, from that fucking nirnroot quest. Granted, he's a little less talkative in Skyrim, but he is there.
Of course, he's clearly nobody's favourite character, because even from the grave he manages to give you pointlessly long quests, so don't bother putting him in the poll.

I can believe it. IIRC, he sends the player on several fetch quests apparently at Arkay's instruction, so unless he's learning the location of objects by mundane means, then convincing himself that Arkay told him...
