TES set on Masser in Fifth era with just Khajit and Dunmer after re-appearance of Numidium has caused apocalypse on Nirn.

We already have a "modern" TES, it's called Fallout we don't need a modern day version of TES, I'm fine with the fantasy elements already, making Tamriel, hell all of Nirn like that feels so forced and fanfiction like.

It’s an idea to be left on Deviantart, never in an actual TES product. A ‘modern Tamriel’ doesn’t feel right at all.

No, just... no. Leave TES as it is, don’t sully it with a crappy ‘modern’ take, please for the love of God.

Well it was meant tongue in cheek.

Like someone mentioned. I guess "modern" Tamriel would be just finally somehow reverse engineering Dwemer tech and possibly some weird clockpunk tech getting prominent.

I just said it feels forced, going from swords and bows, to guns and bombs, from small villages and cottages, to urban sprawl is not what the game should be about. It's supposed to be that old school fantasy styled Dungeons & Dragons feel, with magic, elves, swords, bows, adding modern day elements takes away from that feel entirely. Plus if you tried to do that, you'd have to add a megaton crap of lore into it when we already have thousands of years of lore, hell we have 200 years between Oblivion and Skyrim, why add thousands more?

I'd honestly argue that if we had to pick a 'modern ES' game than it would be Dishonered or Witcher.

Me thinking about how Numidium will return in the Fifth Era and destroy the Aldmeri Dominion by wiping the Altmer race from existence: :)

I'm actually intrigued regarding what a "modern Tamriel" would be like.
