It's a trading company, rather than anything else, and the 'Empire' part of it pretty much solely refers to how their company is given the sole right to trade in specific goods in the Empire - there's nothing stopping them from trading with the Stormcloaks, or other way around, I suppose. Windhelm and its surrounding lands aren't exactly the most fertile-looking of places so they might just need it. I agree it's a bit wonky, but I think there's reasons for them to still be there.

The last couple of times I've played as an Orc in Skyrim. The only real difference it makes is that you don't have to do the stupid test to be allowed into the Orc strongholds the first time, which doesn't really offer any long term advantages whatsoever, as after you have done the very few quests in them then there is no real reason to visit them again.

The Orc special ability is...alright I guess...but I found that I didn't really need to use it after a certain point.

I went to High School with a kid who always played High Elf and advocated for the Thalmor supremacy.

We were not friends.

Same, tbh mostly because as an Imperial you can find more gold.

Further proof that High Schoolers are dumb and edgy, but hey, we all already knew that didn't we? :p

I like Imperial the best because it simply has all my primary, go-to skills tagged. Save for Smithing and Archery. Don't really need anything else tbh. Same goes for Redguard and Orsimer. All three of them tend to overlap the skills I primarily use the most, with some exceptions.

There are actually several ways to gain access to the Strongholds without having to do the dumb radiant quest.

Just do a quest for any Orc outside a Stronghold, finish the part in the Dawnguard questline where you recruit Gunmar and Sorine, kill a dragon outside a Stronghold, or complete the Daedric Quest for Malacath.

It is pretty disappointing though that there isn't much to the Strongholds. No real reason to go back once their respective quests are done, unless you need to sell of junk or are looking to buy something specific and rare. But you can do that in any major city, so...

I mainly use Orcs for theirs bonuses in Smithing, Two Handed Weapons, and Heavy Amour, which are all essential to my normal build.

I've played with all races, obviously. The most fun I had was with an Argonian named Kills-All-Elves and with a Nord battlemage named Bjorlam Rainjumper. Also with a Thalmor agent that I seem to forget the name of.

Ive never been a fan of Argonians and Khajit, i think they are the only two in Skyrim ive never tried, and i think i tried them once or twice in Oblivion but never stuck with them. I tried a redguard once or twice in both games i think as well.

Oh and Wood Elves, never played as them either i think.

I've played just about every race but I never spent much time or effort on Breton, Argonian, or Bosmer.

I should really change that at some point.

*coughs* My first mage was an Orc. I think I've played Breton only once in my decades-long history with ES.

So was mine. Actually my first character was just an Orc, and he eventually evolved into an Orc werewolf mage assassin.

I find myself playing female characters more and more as the years have went on when previously i used to always pick male when i had the option.

I’ve never had a desire to play a female character.

I’m curious who people have chosen to marry. I’ve only done it on one play through and I married Mjoll the Lioness. She came to live with me in Markarth with my two kids Samuel and Blaise

I generally pick nobody. Once I picked Mjoll, but decided that was stupid because she's a heavy armor warrior who's also immortal, which was the perfect fit for my rogue+mage combo at that time.

First person i married in skyrim was Ysolda, the merchant lady in Whiterun on my first playthrough. I think i killed her though at some point though. I married Mjoll a few times (as both male and female characters because she is awesome and i love her voice)

I married Aela the Huntress once, definitely remember that. I think i married Breylna once, same with Lydia, and i think also Camilla from Riverwood.

I dont think i married any dudes at all.

No you never see them leaving the house, because really they never do.

Just as well really, as there are some spouses that would likely go out and engage in thottings, or worse.
